    Slightly OT but:

I wish Boundless was feature complete and released.

    I remember seeing this one.

It is also coming to PS4 if I remember correctly.

Yeah its so successful than instead of growing a population the huge pop it had its getting smaller.

Every mmo gets smaller after  the rush of players at release.  It is just the nature of mmos.

    Still,

Black Desert is the most succesful Fantasy sandbox game ever made.

Donger56 you wrote on previous post: "This has to be the most boring mindless MMORPG ever created."

It took you 56 levels to conclude this ? wow!

Either it takes you a lot of time to realize stuff or you just did what  a lot of gamers who trash BDO talk do, rushed mindlessly to top levels to realize the game is ... mindless.
No, I was waiting for the siege content that never got put into the game. I got tired of waiting and grinding for something that never happened and I lost interest. Judging from the rapid decline in members that my guild and others are seeing, I was not the only one. I lasted longer than some, but in the end I realized I was just kidding myself thinking this game was going to be anything more than what I saw. When you get to 55+ you will understand better.

I have watched my son play this game. As MMO's go it looks fine. From what he tells me though is that it gets a bit boring later on. To me, it looks a lot like Archage in both graphics, gameplay and so-on. Not even going to try it myself.....which is my choice.

Let's party like it is 1863!

Been playing since day one and I am amazed with the amount of bad information about the game.

The amount of rushed reviews with shallow considerations is overwhelming and never seen in years of mmorpgs releases.

I am an mmorpg gamer since 2000 with Everquest and the only logic explanation for this sheer amount of lousy revews and disinformation is that  BDO was made by a South Korean company and God forbid that one company from that side of the map could come up with an MMORPG better then the last 10 years releases.

If you try BDO and give it a chance to show its mechanics you will be amazed with this beautiful game

BDO is a beautiful game, ill give you that, but everything, and i mean everything, is a slow..... boring..... grind.....(And there is ALOT of stuff to do in BDO) Travel is horrible, no fast travel makes sense at 1st, but just ends up eating up too much time.. want to breed horses?? get that tier 8 super fast mount!? good luck, female horses are sooo rare.. and females can only breed once, unless you buy a cash shop item...and leveling your mounts afk is near impossible, because the system is bugged and the client crashes less than 5-30 minutes into it.. :( ...be prepared to drop another 30 bux on top of buying the game for a cosmetic set of armor.. yes $30 for one set.. for one character... or else you will look like everyone else who plays your class, if you decide not to buy a set, your options are.. a potato sack which upgrades to an Idaho Potato Sack, which upgrades to a fancy dress made from Idaho Potato Sacks.. :( ALSO!! translation is horrible.. its like they used translation software to translate the NPC/Quest dialog.. ITS HORRIBLE.. its like living in a world of 5 year olds.. :( voice acting is laughable.. you literally can sit at the vault and listen to the NPC say the same line, over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and... till the point where you just have to turn the sound off, cuse you find yourself hearing the line everytime you open your refrigerator.. >.< This game has amazing potential, if they didnt try to nickle and dime you to death.. I would rather had a subscription fee, and get everything in the cash shop, in game via a quest, gold, or reputation, ect.. I have been playing BDO since launch, and have been an MMO gamer since 1997 with Ultima Online.. and this is defiantly the BEST LOOKING MMO, with awesome potential.. but not much else.. unless you enjoy spending 8-10 hours a day grinding.. (and i dont mean your average mmo grind either) I do not suggest anyone buys this game in its current state, maybe in the future.. I could go on about the grinds all night, like contribution XP, NO Player to player trading, racist and sexist jokes flooding the chat channel with no moderation, not to mention the problems people are having buying the in game currency needed to buy from the cash shop, people getting charged and not receiving their pearls, people being charged 3 times when purchasing the game, I could go on and on.. but alas, Im on a mission to find a new game.. If you haven't played BDO make sure to do some research to make sure its the game for you. (Trolls Flame On!) ;)
This kind of opinion, although I don't agree with, is very valid. ( except the part that  you say that they try to get money out of you  because I don't even notice that the cash exist).

It clearly isn't the kind of game for you and thats fine, its evident you gave it a fair chance and didn't like it.

You need to be tolerant to grind in the same way you do to most of mmorpgs ( EVE, EQ, DAOC, FFXI, FFXIV, just to mention a few).

The hackers have technically impacted the game since day 1. Xigncode has no ability to detect and send information to Daum -- it only closes disallowed programs. Since the combat is completely client-side, the hacking absolutely destroys legitimacy in black desert because looting world bosses depends upon your DPS. World boss loot matters the most because the world boss weapons and armor are considered best in slot. Also consider that black desert is marketed as a pvp game, you've lost all value in pve, pvp, legitimacy, etc because of the HACKERS having no skill cool downs, infinite hp, and radar to spot players/monsters which allows you to find anyone or anything in the distance. And even if Daum implements a detection now (2 months after release), it won't nail every single hacker who earned ill gotten levels, loot, game destroying power. BDO is a joke now. It was a good idea, but poorly developed by the corner cutting koreans at Pearl Abyss.

Can you name any mmorpg that was able to detect "every single hacker"?  Your post is valid to every single mmorpg that came out.

Black Desert has it worse than most mmos. Simply.

When players can give themselves infinite hp and freely cheat at the game undetected, it is a lost cause. Daum is at the mercy of Pearl Abyss to release hotfixes for their game. Daum has absolutely no ability to code and add their own content. Daum doesn't even have a decent staff who speaks proper english because they're a publisher based in EU.

You want to scapegoat more about all mmos having cheaters? Black Desert is like a singleplayer game where you open a hex editor and freeze your hit points. That's how bad Black Desert is in layman's terms.

I tried BDO and it was a short honeymoon indeed. The so called amazing combat was just spam spam spam dead mobs. No challenge at all. Oh, but that's because you need to grind 16 bazillion mobs in order to get mats to craft your gear, yeah right. Amazing.....

To be fair it looks great, no denying that but that doesn't make it a great game, just a great looking game. I know they included many other features, like housing, horse taming etc but combat is a big part of MMO's for me and this was just poorly done. That's my opinion, not fact. I'm sure there are plenty of fans that love the combat.

Slightly OT: Kingdom Come: Deliverance looks interesting. I've been saying for years I'd like to see a new MMO with no magic, just proper combat mechanics. I'm not sure if it's massively multiplayer but I might have to look into that further.

I have been playing this game since closed beta. The only reason I play right now, if you can call it playing, is to autoloop more of my T6 horses for another chance at a T7 (have a T7 black, but want the white one also).

Like I said in a previous post, if you want more chances at that T7 horse, you have to whip out your wallet so your female horse that you took about a week of boring afk autolooping to get to level 26+, can breed more than once. They just find more ways for the consumer to spend more money into this game.

I really miss the golden age of MMO's, when there were no cash shops or money grabs, just pay your 15 dollars a month and EVERYTHING is included.

First off you need to understand that people have different tastes, so attacking everyone in this thread because they are offering valid criticisms, just makes you look desperate. I always wonder as well, how much people actually like a game when they seem to spend more time defending it on some random forum rather than actually playing the game? Additionally, you really haven't gone into any detail as to why you enjoy the game, instead you are just attacking people for having a different opinion.

I'm afraid my views on BDO are  broadly negative as well.

It does look nice, that can't be denied but there's more to enjoying a game than gazing at scenery. The combat was ok, not great but then I do come from a tab targetting background and having to get used to the new mechanics in modern games takes time!

Where the game falls apart for me is the poor reliabilty, I just couldn't stay online. Sometimes it would kick me after a few minutes, sometimes an hour or more. It was totally random and really annoying. Secondly, that cash shop has to be the most ridiculous one I have ever seen in any game. Not only do we have to buy the game in the first place but we then get nickel and dimed to oblivion. Almost everything is hidden behind the cash shop. Also, the game seems to be a thin wrapper around a monstrous RNG system - RNG is *everywhere*, there's too much of it.

I haven't totally written the game off. It's staying on my radar. I'll want to see some positive steps towards toning that cash shop down a bit, making the game playable (get to the bottom of these disconnections) and taking the cooldown timers, etc. off the client before I go back. At present, it's just not for me.

I played for a little while.  At first I was having issues with downloading the client and installing.  Daum wouldn't respond to any of my tickets.  The support is terrible.

I got the Valkerie and Musa to level 20 before I quit.  I can't stand the mass amount of players literally on auto pilot going from A to B.  The farming and node systems are a really cool feature but were not enticing enough.

The Horse and riding mechanics are also great.  Very interactive.

I also couldn't stomach the terrible distance LOD with models and textures popping in and out of view.

Great combat, great cosmetics, and decent music...can't say much more about my experience.  I wanted to like it.

IDK why people keep insisting on calling this a sandbox. Maybe sand boxes have changed a lot since I was a kid and they use expensive imported sand, have scheduled, supervised access by appointment and have no cat turds in them.

It has thousands of quests... that should be a clue.

Ahhhhh, so that's why I fell and broke my knee cap.

    SWG (pre-cu) - AoC (pre-f2p) - PotBS (pre-boarder) - DDO - LotRO (pre-f2p) - STO (pre-f2p) - GnH (beta tester) - SWTOR - Neverwinter

Totally agree with OP on this one. The BEST and most immersive MMO I have EVER played. And yes I have played ALL of the biggies. EQ1 is the only one that is REMOTELY comparable, and really its NOT. Don't just play this game for a few days and throw it away. You really need to give it some time, and learn the MASSIVE amount this game has to offer.

Lol, no, I pre ordered it, played beta, thought it was alright, at least worth the money

nope, one week in and I realized it was not worth $30
