It's an interesting proposal to not have any. But there is a few things that were in the base game that alot of ppl want to see. For example the wards.
I think they should stick to only what was promised in the game. The rewards are silly
I think stretch goals are kind of expected from Kickstarters now. I think their problem was that they polled backers and then in many cases ignored what the backers said.
They would have been better off just skipping the poll. Making the #15 item the first stretch goal and the #2 item the last one just sends the wrong message.
Almost like the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing/planning.

They did explain their reasoning, you posted it here, do you disagree with it somehow?
Just because the fans want feature "XYZ" first doesn't mean it makes good sense to do so. (which they explained, right?)
I know you are disappointed, but sometimes you have to accept the reality of the situation. (or at least accept the devs explainations)

Nah! You're just disappointed that you will not get what you were wanting/hoping for. Why does it matter what they do first or last? It's their game.
Its still all hype, they make a dream list of things they (think) they can do, then they get people to vote on it, knowing full well people will vote for the 'coolest' (most expensive) stuff. Thus serving a couple goals. First it puts these ideas into peoples heads, and secondly it gives them another (manufactured) monetary ceiling to get to. So basically they ask for 900 (which is way too low) but its the proverbial foot in the door amount, psychologically less than a million and not obvious at 999,999. But enough for them to get backed and start the REAL 'fundraising'.
So now their 'modest' 900K kick starter turns into a 2.250 million (2.5 times the original goal) 'dream' development. Which again isnt enough to come close to what they claim they can do, but it might get most of the kickstarter stuff done, in some remedial sense.
The way they were piling money in they probably should have waited for the 'stretch' goal portion, but thats why I say theyre riding the hype train, strike while the iron is hot and get those people who might not donate once they see more than 900K on the kick starter page. It has already slowed down the past couple days as it is.
But to me the first stretch goal price is too coincidentally similar to what they claimed a new artist would cost them. So basically I think right now theyre looking to add a new artist and can more than likely add whatever the first stretch goal is for nothing.
But what is really curious is how tunneling is listed at a 100K increase (over the previous 'reward' tier and 200K above the previous feature tier) and way down the list despite being number one (by a mile) player option, yet wards which is listed at a 250K increase over the previous reward and 450K (50% of total original) more than the original KS amount. The stretch goals are too 'strategically' (nicest word I could come up with) to be simply financially and player desired compromises. Tunneling obviously could have been the number 2 option,(and been less than the stated number 2 stretch goal benchmark) but they wanted to (try) milk another 700K from people to get there. In fact they could have combined tunneling and burying for about as much as the ward feature costs alone.
Its marketing 101.
I am surprised more people didnt look at those stretch goals see the increases and realize how they were all placed in a pretty specific way to maximize the money they want to raise. By alternating 'feature' and 'reward'. But the features were placed in an order by which people wanted them (in reverse) but the ones placed before them were not as desired and in fact cost more to implement, at least according to their own personal pricing. The only thing that would have made it more obvious as to what they were doing is if they put tunneling last, which would have made sense because one would assume you would need 'digging' to accomplish tunneling but digging and burying is actually a goal after tunneling is. But like I said it might appear too obvious. So they did the nest best thing they made mounted combat the 'ultimate' goal, probably because it is a feature most people will eventually want and one that is more stand alone than he other features.
Yet again your comment is useless and going on about the same point that they can't afford this game.
If you read the whole post it explains why the list is like that. If you plan out what each feature will need extra to the previous tier you can understand it all.
Am I happy with the order no. Do I understand the order yes. And there is the difference between us. I can understand it you think your right. Another person for my ignore list I think

Actually it doesn't concern me that they put the more wanted goals later on. It is obvious it's because they want more money. I have yet to pledge so please don't call me a fan boy. I'm new to these forums (CoE ones) and all of your posts moan about the game and that it can't be done on this budget. That's what I'm commenting on.
The stretch goals I can see why they are doing it from a monetary and staffing level. That's the thing I'm willing to look at it from all points

Already pledged and am happily waiting.
