I'm Mark Halash and I'm a senior game designer here at ArtCraft. A lot has happened in the last few months, not the least of which is my joining the team in March. During that time, we rolled out Siege Perilous, the Ranger archetype was newly introduced, we've done some experimentation with armor and we've done a lot of tuning and improvements to combat. So after all of that, we thought it would be a good time to look at the tale of the tape.
It's always interesting to take a look at what archetypes are being played. As you can see above, back in March the Ranger was weighing in at over 25%. Of course, that's not a surprise. Not only was she brand-new but we were also actively asking you to help us test her out. The data shows you heeded that call, so thank you.
It's interesting to watch how data changes over time. Looking at data from the last month, you can see archetype choice has mostly leveled out. But the Champion is still rolling in at just under 15%. That's a little concerning to me. Were they not living up to the hype and fulfilling the role of terrifying melee DPS? ... "
