People start games and people quit games. It's all part of the natural order of things. "Lots people are quitting game X" doesn't necessarily say anything bad about game X. Many millions of people have quit WoW, for example. Same with League of Legends, and any other extremely successful game you can name.
The problem is when such a large fraction of the players quit quickly enough that there aren't many people left playing the game. I haven't played Black Desert, but the amount of attention it gets around here sure makes it look like it's not having a "nearly everyone quit and now the game is dead" problem.

That's exactly what happened with WildStar. The thread traffic just kinda died out. These boards showed a lot of apathy. People just stopped caring. That's when you know you have a problem.
Well it is a terrible game, typical Asian RNG garbage. I got suckered into buying the pre-order, quit within 4 weeks...just to stale and pvp was crap just like every other mmo in the last 3-4 years.
Lots of people have quit, but I am sure that it has a decent playerbase still, I mean what else are hardcore mmo'ers going to play atm? Fng Aion? Wildstar? ESO...yeah its that bad atm lol.

Well said, saw that before WS even released, no one cared about it enough to even troll it, that's when you know it's not getting peoples attention.
