I dislike having several hotbars filled with skills, mostly never used (looking at you WoW, EQ2 and FFXIV). Looking for a nice, fun PvE-oriented game, with emphasis on dungeons and group content (I love to heal or tank).
Hate grinding, though. Grind for me is the necessity to kill mindlessly mobs to be able to take on a new area or questline. It shows poor levelling design and it's subjectively what is wrong with most asian MMOs.
Great examples of grind games:
AION
ArcheAge
FFIX
So, is BDO for me?

but, if you dont like grinding then this wont be the long term game for you
edit
its also a 'forced' pvp game once you pass 45, so if your looking for pve then this definatly isn't the game, there isn't any dungeons, grouping isnt a key aspect of this unless your doing boss scrolls etc
This post is all my opinion, but I welcome debate on anything i have put, however, personal slander / name calling belongs in game where of course you're welcome to call me names im often found lounging about in EvE online.

The skills are mostly done through combos created by using select keys and mouse keys.

You wouldn't actually call it a PVE game or a PVP game, or a sandbox game or a themepark game, it's one defining characteristic is the endless grind. It's a grind game, but....
Grind is also (obviously) the best way to get levels and the best way to get gear. In fact, there isn't a single piece of BiS gear that doesn't drop from OW bosses (none from crafting). At least for my class. Grind is also the way to get rich, the income far exceeds any of the 'life skills' or PVE mechanisms.
So when I say give this game a go, what I mean is: APRIL FOOLS .
You'll hate it.
Grinding in BDO doesn't feel as bad though as it does in standard themeparks. In standard themeparks, you grind a top dungeon for a few months. Then they release a new one, all your gear is suddenly shit, and you do it over again.
In BDO the endgame content is other people, so any advancement you make will always be meaningful.
Anyway, I think the game is sufficiently different and high quality that every MMO player should at least try it. There's still plenty of keys floating around. Not everyone's going to like it, but the one's that do seem to REALLY like it, including myself.
You don't have to play it forever, it's only $40. I payed more for Doom than this costs and I played it for a few days.
My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)
