Crikey! So many things I don't get . Contribution points to buy house. Was too afraid to do anything. Going to go read up but am worried about the 7 days it will be eaten up with my reading. Stupid me should have read up before I played.

Started the ranger was fun the fighting so far is not hard. May be because it was a ranged toon. Game was so dark until I discovered a lantern. Okay my card is a GTX770 so not very powerful to run at max setting still game on vibrance setting looks warm the colours.

I will play more than decide but now must hit the guides and read up.

Contribution points simple explanation would be:

Imagine the game match the dots.

    1             2                     3
    0----------0-----------------0

    Okay?

1] This is Olvia, the town you start in. Towns don't require a contribution point to activate but require contribution points to increase storage, more workers etc etc

2] is the small farm next to Olvia. When you open your world map and click on it (After you discover it) you can see that the farm has options. I am not sure what they are atm as I'm not ingame but let's just say it's Lumbering and to collect some Herbs.

    You need 2 things:

1 - Go to the farm and talk to the node manager. Click on the chat command option to invest and you will be given an option to spend some of the contribution points in that particular farm. Once you invest a point in the farm and one or both of the options in that farm, you can start using it.

2 - You need to hire workers. They do the job for you, and all you need to pay them is beer! Either craft it or buy it from marketplace but I would suggest crafting it.

3] Now that you invested in the farm, you should notice a yellow line connecting Olvia and the Farm. That means that you have connected the dots and anything gained from those farms will go in Olvia. That also means, if you make a crafting station for workers, you need to place the ingredients in Olvia's storage.

From there onwards remember that when you want to mine in x place, you must connect the dots.

And contribution points can be gotten back by removing your invested points. This can be done from the world map you don't need to go to the npc.

    Hope it's simple enough.

Okay thanks for that condensed version. I understand now.

One thing to keep in mind is that once you reach an area that is close to another town, let's say Velia which is your next town, the workers that you hired from Olvia won't be able to work there unless you connect the dots all the way to there.

If Velia is not connected to Olvia but you invested in some farm, you can't use the Olvia workers but need to hire ones in Velia.

Each town has it's own limit of workers so don't worry.

I am crazy about crafting so this aspect will be what I usually immerse myself in. In some games I have like 9 crafters and I even got carpel tunnel in Vanguard from too much crafting. So really looking forward to this aspect of the game. I am so grateful that people are so helpful on this forum .Thank you.

Is there any way to stop the experience from killing things I do not want to level up too fast and I want to learn the systems and progress slowly. Am I correct in assuming the only way you level is by killing things so I should try to not kill things much as I have no wish to level to 45 in a short time.

There's a double exp event atm which kinda sucks if you want to take it slow.

I myself am trying to do all the quests so I also level my contribution and energy levels but once I reached an area where I got a bunch of kill quests I quickly outleveled the zone and now I'm lvl 45 with quests leading me to grey to green named mobs :/

Ultimately? Yes, killing is what gives you the most experience.

Double experience, oh damn, no wonder thanks for clarifying. Was wondering if that was the normal rate. I killed a few grass beetles to see how my attacks work and noticed the exp gain and was alarmed at the quick pace.
