Hi everyone , i'm new here;great site
This weekened i was at my friends house and he showed me ,but i cant remember some contest that SOE
was doing to find an exact real life match for some EQ2 elf girl.
They were taking votes on who was the hottest real life elf girl
If anyone has any info i'd just like to know who won

Well first, welcome to the site, I've met some pretty good people so I hope you enjoy your time here.
Second, as a female I find these little competitions SOE likes to hold completely insulting and degrading and it does nothing but push future female players away. But of course thats just my oppinion, I think the last time this came up I was called a fat lesbian feminist so I'm certainly not the majority on this one

Is there a Mr America contestt?
Contestslike these always involve females.

Alright im not trying to be a jerk or anything, but how is SOE degrading the women??? The women are the ones that are dressing up and doing it.

Well, don't you just find it funny that SOE are the ones doing this? First of all, SOE will do ANYTHING to get new gamers into their games. I know. For instance, the ability to make big boobies on SWG. Also. In Everquest and Everquest 2. Jeeze, it's like the armors don't even -protect them- they show so much skin.

The reason theres probably not a RL Lucan contest is, it would be just to terrifying. Imagine a male model with one eye, long grey hair, old and wrinkled, and the IQ of a male model. Yea, I ain't gonna sleep well tonight either...bleh...
But, once you show me proof those women are being shipped to the studios in cages against their will, I'll agree they are being objectified. But, until then I hold no sympathy for anyone who does something to themselves. Shoot yourself in the foot for example, you'll hear me laughing at you.

Not sure what the big deal is, look at the E3, its full of paid models to lure lonely geeks to look at their warez. Sex sells, even mmorpg.com added a babes of E3 piece to make all the geeks on this site salivate when they log on. Its stupid and surprised how many of these so called educated people are duped by it but it works. Soe is just working a tried and true formula if its true.
Bottom line:

And, bluntly, guys like to look at pretty girls in skimpy clothes, generally, more than girls like to look at guys in skimpy clothes.
And, in point of fact: This isn't a beauty contenst SOE is running. They're looking for a girl that looks like Antonia or whatever her name is in the game. It's called MARKETTING. It's not a beauty pagent. Sheez.
I love how some women get all up in arms whenever someone even comes close to mentioning a contest involving women. Even when it has nothing to do with a beauty contest. They're looking for someone to be antonia bayle (or whatever her name is) at fan meets, etc.

Its not just a look alike contest. The "winner" gets a spread ( no pun intended) in STUFF magazine.
So throw away those rose colored glasses. I still dont get SOE having anything to do with Stuff magazine. Oh well any company that is going to allow selling of in game items is capable of anything.

Unfortunatly my friend in this day and age T&A are the 2 best sellers out there. its sad to say and im quite ashamed to, but untill we as people stop buying into it and turn our heads when they do this, they as a cooproration wont get the point, they dont get points untill there money drops because of it. but, sadly enough that would be too much to ask from the sleezy sex minded men and women of today.

In general women DO like to look at cute guys but they generally do not carry it to the extent that guys do. How many women look at magazines the like of hustler, playboy, etc. Granted there are a FEW but the market is nowhere NEAR as large as guys who look at women in skimpy attire.
Please get your facts straight before posting what you obviously haven't any clue about.
YES, girls like to look at guys, but the market for guys looking at women is MUCH MUCH larger, and not just in video games. Or did you think the cheerleader pages of various football team websites were there for women to get fassion tips from? Or, for that matter, the fact that all the adds on tv these days have a sexual connotation of some kind or other? Or the fact that you almost never see ugly women as newscasters? Hmm?
