    "Tickets

Gamescom tickets, available below, are $20 in order to help cover the cost of the event. Event capacity is 2,000 and German law requires a strict door list, which means this event is Backers only. Registrants must be 18+. Star Citizen events are planned exclusively for Star Citizen backers! Our event takes place during Gamescom but it is being held offsite. We do NOT require Gamescom admission tickets."

It was voluntary as you said yourself (you need me to quote you on that also?). So where is the source then for the supposed thousands of backers paying for all CIG events especially the one in Manchester you mentioned?

Need me to link it again?

Maximum capacity 750.  Ticket price 40 Pound Sterling. 650 visitors, around 100 from CIG.
26.000 Pound Sterling from Ticket Sale.

That is PLENTY to pay for the venue.

    Thousands of backers, sure.

Nothing still as i thought. Just like your claim you are a bit event organizer.

Something tells me that even the most relevant information won't help here. Yup! My crystal ball confirmed it! Sorry! Don't have a link to it!

The thread that is about a game that has been hyped by the maker and its white knights is passing up the chance to hype it some more. I think most people know why. Unfortunately the white knights have descended upon the thread and attacked the OP, as is the standard procedure.

Really? I thought it was about some guy complaining about them canceling on the E3 show last minute but in his OP he links and quotes that E3 were informed weeks ago and upset a big deal wasn't made about it.

    I could be wrong tho...

But seriously if intel was the driving force I can understand why CIG wouldn't want to attend considering they are in with AMD right now.
You hit the sweet spot here.

I also thought that CIG - after just having got a GamesCom showfloor booth sponsored by Intel - will be very careful to attend the "PC Gaming Show" with AMD logos painted all over it. It did not surprise me that they cancelled weeks ago.

Its the old Intel vs AMD war ;-)

But without a source to quote that was just my personal opinion and I chuckled a bit about the Intel/AMD tug-of-war about Star Citizen.

Looks like this thread is full of all kinds misinformation.  Aparently the E3 is hosted by AMD.

Don't discuss, just do the math ...
let's take the 100CIG People, they have to be paid for this event for at least 3 days.
    This calculates as 100 people * 3 Days * 8 Hour a day = 2400 man hours.
Now go and pay them ... and pay for the flights fourth and back to Manchester, pay the CIG people expenses, pay the development time for the showreel, pay the event insurance, the PA, the event coordinator , the guys that are building the stage and the cable monkeys, and all the small things that would sum up.

If I didn't know any better I would think OP is none other than a really pissed off or bored Brenics. But while he was loony as all outdoors I never saw him stoop to this level. So either...

since when do you need 100 people to send Chris Roberts to an interview at the E3?

We know he is very demanding but i doubt he travels with his personal entourage of 100 developers.

The event is sponsored and run by AMD and hosted by PCGamer. No one at CIG pays for PA event coordinator or guys building a stage. LMAO!

CIG got invited to AMD's show event at E3.

This was an answer due to Erillions post and meant to prove your claim that 26k is far not enough to host an own venue.
E3 would be less expensive than that own CIG show; On top of that E3 is not an echo chamber like citcon and could possible pull new customers - well if they would attend and if they have some impressive stuff to show :) (at least one of the statements is false though)

Here in your words, not mine.. sure sounds like complaining about them canceling last minute.. but that is not true confirmed by your OP.

This was a simple post about a game company that is going to release a major AAA game this year and confirmed to show it at E3 just 4 weeks ago, cancelling that event in the last minute for no good reason.

Their E3 opportunity represented 1M free viewers and was 30 minutes from HQ. A proxy for Chris could've gone, and the free exposure wouldve been a great way to plug the games. But they have nothing they feel comfortable showing to the general gaming public. Just as they didn't when the BBC showed up.

    ----

So this isn't a post about them "cancelling that event in the last minute for no good reason" and you not being to happy about it?

    What is it about then?

lol @ the fanboys in this thread. This never would have gotten past 1 page if you didn't all show up en masse to argue with the OP about a simple piece of information that you all internalized as negative. There is some legit psychosis going on with SC fans.
No fanboy here. I am bullish on SC and bearish on CR TBPO.

The "argument" is the ingrained attack on @Erillion in the OP. Just a simple statement of the lack of SC/CIG at E3 would have been fine. But OP went farther, proving the troolish intent of said OP. So he was attacked for it.

    Easy peasy.
It's ok to cancel an event, but it's not ok to do it silently, all the people who booked flights/hotels and took holiday - just to get information from first hand - are now well ****** ...

Good customer support also means that they are posting this stuff on their website with a short explanation why they cancelled it on short notice. Instead CIG is telling noone, you have to find it out 3 weeks later on a 3rd party website.

He can be a little spammy to be sure but not attack worthy. If you don't like the game why the actual fuck do you post in threads about it?

I'll go ahead and say it.... If someone's sole purpose of going to E3 was to see SC and CR then... I'm really, really sorry. Not that CIG cancelled, but the fact that was the attendees sole purpose of going. So much good stuff at E3, even with the absence of a bunch of the big names.

OP is trying to lead this post to show Erillion as a Shill in very subtle ways. But the issue here isn't whether Erillion is a fan or a shill. That doesn't matter. What and when Erillion posts on these boards is at his sole discretion and as long as he follows the ToS, he need not answer to OP for what he chooses NOT to post as is the case in this thread.

I've never been one to call for a thread closure as I have always felt "Who are you to decide who's opinion is valid or not?" but in this case, this thread is such an obviuos AdHom, it should be closed and the OP banned.

I was active on this forum a decade before Star Citizen.

And - moderators and mmorpg hardware permitting - i will be active on this forum a decade after Star Citizen.

    DANGER! DANGER!

You are drifting into treacherous waters there unless the Mods have lightened up recently.

But seriously don't put all your life savings into VR...

    B)
with the cost of hardware failing as it is I am not sure I could put all my money into VR if i wanted to.
Never the less is bringing up VR derailing the conversation or are we still on restricting what others can buy even if they want to and it harms nobody else?
