    Good. Otherwise we'd have Activision suing ID Software claiming DOOM is a copy of CoD because they're both first person shooters.

    lol shoudln't that be the other way around :) doom suiing cod as doom was 10 years before it lol :) 

    This post is all my opinion, but I welcome debate on anything i have put, however, personal slander / name calling belongs in game where of course you're welcome to call me names im often found lounging about in EvE online.

    Copyright is pretty explicit that it pertains to a direct copy of a work like xeroxing 50 Game of Thrones books and giving it to your friends.

    Well there is still hope for humanity i see. =)

    Just imagine the patent trolls and ambulance chasers that would come flocking in if this was not the case. 

    Too much of the game industry is regulated by patents and copyright as it is. No need to add game mechincs to that list. 


    Also if that would be the case.... Hello every modern shooter.. meet Quake. =P
