If you stop playing because you are exhausted(work) or because of some silly reason, I pity you. If you stop playing because you have more ''fun'' stuff to do, like job or family, then it is great.
I pity folks who stop having fun in life. Folks who have nothing but fun in life are prolly better started then the other way around, at least they enjoy life...
Games are just a tiny part of life, but if you use it for more, it is prolly for the better! I rather see the folks on the welfare happy and playing silly games then considering murder! And if someone at job make big sacrifices and find some fun in silly games, maybe it is those games who keep him moving!
Admin say something extremely bright: ''Gaming is life...'' This statement is underated and peoples ignore it as an overstatement from a guy who take his job in a weird way, but in fact, Admin may understand some stuff better then everyone taking the time to post here may...I should grow up and not reply everytimes...but I guess this would mean it is not me anymore if I dont always take the time to write more...oh well.

Some people care way to much of what other people do with their free time. Who are you to be telling anyone how to live? If someone wants to play online games for reasons that you cant relate to get over it. 6 billion people on this planet, grow up and realize that everyone is entitled to find happiness in their lives the way they want to.
Because video games aren't meant for children anymore. almost all video games are designed for people around the 18-24 age group... The only reason people assume gaming is for children is because they speak louder and nintendo(ruining gamers reputation since n64!)
LOL That is so insulting I almost don't want to reply. I'm 30 years old and have been playing games since I was about 10. I find that playing games only gets more addictive as you get older. It's a way to relax after working all day. Plus, I can afford more games than I could back then. It's no different than any other hobby out there. Yes, I have kids and it is fun to play games with them. My spouse and I have laptops and we sit next to each other on the couch and play online together. If I have to give up games just because I'm older, then I don't want to grow up! LOL
BTW, age has NOTHING to do with being "grown-up." I've known people older than me who act worse than a 13 year old and I've known 13 year olds who I would swear were much older as they were very mature.
OMG! If you're over 18, you're OLD?? Since when? I guess I fall into the old people group. I've been playing games for forever and I have no intention of stopping. Be careful who you call old, kid. I think there are far more of us than there are of you.
Originally posted by Supernerd I figure i will quit playing games once i get older, when im 19 or 20 ;'cause i'll just be into grown up stuff at that age. So for all the old people that play games...... What is your excuse for playing games,do you have kids that play and you help them or what?
Why is "19 or 20" the 'magical age' when you suddently turn into an adult?
All adult really means is you are legally responsible for all your actions and decisions. It has nothing to do with how mature one is, being 'grown up', playing video games, etc.... Just that you can be arrested for breaking the law and you get sentanced. Instead of your parents being called.
Did you know before the early 1900's kids were considered adults at age 12-14? That was when you could fight in wars, kill other men, W-O-R-K FULL TIME AT A JOB, even marry. It was after the child labour laws and reforms that age 18-19 was settled on to define when one is legally an adult.
Another example is how one can be drafted to fight, kill, and die at age 18. But are allowed to vote only at age 21, drink at age 21, heheh.
Why do you think you'll stop playing games at 19 or 20?? I'll bet that you don't stop then unless you run out of money. I still play games simply because it is fun. Believe me, I meet far more people my age than 18 and under.
This is one of the cutest posts I've seen in a while. How old are you, anyhow? You must be pretty darn young to think that 19 or 20 makes you "grown up." Grown up is a state of maturity and that is a product of a mature mindset. I've known most 19 or 20 year olds to be very immature and irresponsible. Playing games doesn't make you a kid. It's a serious past-time for those of us who play them.
Originally posted by Supernerd I figure i will quit playing games once i get older, when im 19 or 20 ;'cause i'll just be into grown up stuff at that age.
I used to think that. When I was younger I thought hitting 18-19, was the magically age for people to drop off the gaming network. I was wrong of course, as gaming gets better as you age . You understand a lot of the jokes in the games, or can even compare some of the situations.
Give it time and you'll understand. For now, try not to think about it too much

38 here, and I actually play less mmorpgs than I did three years ago.... I guess I am more discerning now, I cant spena ten hours a day playing any game... I own a big house, have a mortgage, young kids, etc... I love the genre, love to read about it, and hope to find the perfect game some day, til then, I wait, and post..... guess I am saving my gaming time for "my" game, I dont spend it randomly....

I am not going to read 7 pages or responses, so I don't know if this has been said before. The fact of the matter is that once you are 18, you are deemed an adult, and therefore are legally responsible for yourself. Once an adult, you are help accountable for completing certain responsibilties. If you have children or a wife, you are responsible for caring and providing them with a good life style and opportunities in life. Playing games extremely inhibits this role. With the hours you are playing games you could be working to get a better job or spending time with your family. If you are 18 and without a wife or child, you are still responsible. Often this is the age where one goes to college, living by themselves for the first time, or taking a job. Be responsible and improve your and your families real life than "raising your orc to Level 50." Sadly, gaming creators have manipulated people to such a degree that is sickening. In the future, I see massive changes in laws concerning gaming. Get a life, not a "Level 50 orc" that will mean nothig to you in two months or less when you are bored with the game and have lost valuable time in life, which is short.
Computer gaming is a stress reliever and a good past time to allow us to be able to communicate with other people and express ourselves. You might notice that a large number of the games that you kiddies play are actually rated M... ie they are meant for older people. Just because your parents allow you to be able to play these games doesn't mean that those of us that the games were actually inteded for are in the wrong. Perhaps you should ask your parents why they are allowing you to play such games.
First of all, smoking is considered a stress reliever, does that mean you should do it. Both gaming and smoking havethe same result. One kills you earlier, not allowing you to fully live your life, and one occupies you addictively for hours upon hours, not allowing you to fully live your life. I would go far enough to say that gaming is more addictive than smoking, because many, such as yourself, cannot see the harm.
Originally posted by Ferox(SM) simply because I have been playing video games since they were basically invented... and I plan on being 90 years old in my VR chamber battleing other players in combat!
I second that. Since when do you reach a certain age and have to give up things you enjoy because people think that they are "not grow up things"?
Originally posted by HeartBroken dude haven't you seen all those college kid pros???????????? Well in games with skill at least. in college you're over 18 you know....
Not always. I've been in college since I was 16.
Games are for young and old. I don't understand why people think it's purely a hobby of males from 9 to 21. Statistics show otherwise.

When you are all "grown up" and stop playing, can I have all of your accounts? You will be to busy doing "grown up" things to use them anyway.
