I still wonder why nobody even *asks* for an ETA on One Tamriel...
    Is it planned for 2016? 2017? 2020?

That's correct. E3's announcement was this Fall.

So the whole game will be level balanced except for the end game/veteran level content?

That's because he dodged all the questions. But hey, I love the game too, Matt... not so much. :)

It was asked and answered with the information being easy to find. I would suspect this is "why nobody even asks for an ETA"...

They've just made a shitload of announcements, are people seriously complaining that they're not giving enough of a heads up? Matt is the same as any other face of a game like Yoshi-P, etc.

Wow, he is an expert at dodging questions and talking without ever really saying anything. Also, if you look into how he responds with his first sentence to any question he makes a point to agree wholeheartedly with the interviewer. Are you you going to be giving us VR, Housing, and taking out instancing entirely? Absolutely, we will be looking into VR in the future, housing is coming and instancing is always being reviewed at every stage in the game.

Which really means, Absolutely going to skate by every one of these questions, we are not really concentrating on VR, housing will come when it comes so stop asking, and yeah yeah yeah instancing we know you hate it but it makes our job easier so shut up, but i'll tell you that we are always looking into it.

This is just an example of how I think Matt Firor answers questions. Then again, that's why he was hired. Total magician when it comes to interviews....slight of hand was so 1999....its all about slight of answers now.

Saw in one of the developer video's from E3 that is was slotted around end of August but don't think that was a set point and could change.

"We already had a really good quest system with top-notch dialog," I disagree, while the stories might be good, there are no dialogues or choices in the game (except a few). This is why is so frustating, i feel that questing could be amazing with a system like SWTOR where you can chose lines of answers and watch your char in the conversation. It doesn't need to have a voiced char.

Same. I don't want to dog him and maybe it's the culture at ZOS, but I never really feel like interviews with him are open and honest. The questions were really good and to the point.

Contrast that with interviews with Hartsman. I'm not even a happy Trion customer at the moment but I always like reading Hartsman interviews. The same with Raph Koster. I may not be interested in his latest project (Crowfall) but I always feel like I come away from his interviews and articles better informed or with some sort of insight.
I tend to cut Matt some slack because it's obvious to me while watching him that he's always uncomfortable around people -- especially crowds. I liked Paul Sage even less but he was much better than Matt at dealing with the public and media.

There's an art to not answering questions when you don't want to in an honest and straightforward manner, but in order to do so you have to acknowledge explicitly that you're not answering that question and maybe even mention why you're not. If you don't do that, you give the impression that you think no one will notice that you're dodging and that, just makes you look silly.

Yeah I'm resubbing. This is talent and shows they're committed and think about the community quite a deal! Also convinced my two buddies to join in as soon as they learned about One Tamriel. Great job Zenimax

The only question he dodged is regarding player numbers and every developer dodges that same question for the same reasons. But playing the game it's clear it's highly populated and doing well so I don't honestly care what the official number is. I am glad to see all the changes and additions we're getting. It's really the best game out there and continually getting better.

Exactly.  Like anyone gives the exact date, time, and size of every patch ever in interviews....

You can buy the game for c. $20 on Amazon.com; less on most EU Amazon sites. Huge game. No need to spend anything else whilst you decide whether you want to buy any of the DLC. At which point you can rent or buy.

I think Matt gave several interesting answers.

His answer about One Tamriel being "on the initial to do list" after the PC launch is telling imo. That is two years ago.

His answer about 1-50 suggests that he / ZoS recognise the pitfalls of simply getting rid of it.

His ESO Plus comment suggests that some people sub for the DLC and then unsub and maybe play two months with no Plus membership.

What is a subscriber though? How do you compare someone who buys the DLC every quarter but never takes out a Plus membership with someone who just does Plus for one month a quarter? The DLC typically costs more than one months sub. So to really answer the question Matt would have to talk about more than just Plus memberships.

And he confirmed what is coming in August. And gave a target date for providing info on housing - OK it was only "towards the end f the year" but it is a target.
