    I want this to succeed.

I don't think it will past the very short term.

How many times has this game failed and they're still trying to get a monthly fee? LOL.
They are catering to a very specific niche market who will gladly pay a sub, much as EVE players do because it offers a unique experience.

Rebooting a game that failed just seems braindead.  The game was bad because of the design, not because of Adventurine's mismanagement.  It just seems rather foolish to spend money on something like this game when there are far better games out there from some of the new indie studios.

Saying there are far better games out there makes no sense because they are different games, there is no game out currently like DF nothing even close......

The people that will by and play this game are looking for an experience that is available no where else.

You can't seriously believe that, there are a ton of new indie pvp games that while early access are light years better than Darkfall any day of the week.   Get out and look what is available.  Darkfall is probably one the worst designed MMO's ever and thinking these guys have the expertise to fix bad code is ludicrous.
Name 3 please that offer the same experience that aren't unfinished messes right now?

Is it odd to anyone else that a company would announce its pricing model mere days before rolling the game out?

It's the perfect game 14 year old griefers - they're usually a solid base on which to build a game community.

The people I know who used to play Darkfall were mostly 30+ actually and there was definitely not a lack of maturity. It's certainly not my kind of game, but just because some people like something more hardcore, that doesn't make them immature kiddies.

In fact the immature kiddies could never handle a game like this. It requires a mature adult to handle the constant loss and huge risk you'll experience and pick yourself up to go back to grind some more of it without raging every day.
This.  Playing DFUW, there were almost unwritten rules not to cry about being killed and all your stuff taken.  I saw much less raging/crying in DF than I did in no risk vs reward themepark battlegrounds.

i dont get it.. i played almost every mmo on the market from f2p to p2p to early access.. and not one single mmo can reproduce what darkfall can and is doing..

Yes there were major problems with the previeus dfo.. but this has changed due to 2 new companies

AV was the bottleneck regarding darkfall.. hopefully the players who enjoyed darkfall are willing to give it another try..

Please remember that darkfall sold 150k copies over its lifespann of 4 years. that is very good for a new game and/or nichy game

    final:

YOU A PVP PLAYER AND NEVER PLAYED DARKFALL? I FEEL SORRY FOR YOU MAN :)

There is Darkfall: Rise of Agon, which is the other version being (re)developed.

I think Darkfall has its own niche, though. It fills a significant gap between the 'survival' games and the EQ/WOW-style MMOs, offering more features and substance than the former and less grindy carrot-chasing than the latter.

I wish them luck on the reboot.

Give this a game population of 1-2k active players and i will happily uninstall every other game ive ever played, but a game like this has to have winners and losers and the losers quit and there isn't a enough "real" pvp focused mmorpg players to replace them.

I will be playing the entire duration, as i did for every other iteration of darkfall and every iteration to come, lets just hope we can get a stable playerbase but my hope for a decent pvp mmorpg to call my home is all but gone.

why does this game STILL exist?

The team is making some very needed changes to the game. I feel with these changes and the already existing best combat on the market, this has the potential to make for a lasting game.
