RX 480 Gaming Performance Rivals The R9 Fury & GTX 980

Moving on to the leaked gaming benchmarks. In the five games that have been benchmarked, the RX 480 delivered performance that’s very close to the R9 Fury and GTX 980. Often trading blows with both cards whilst running at the same settings. DOOM at maximum settings, including Shadows Quality & Virtual Texturing Page Size set to “nightmare” which is a notch above the Ultra preset. At 1920×1080 for example, the RX 480 delivered ~100 FPS. Which is significantly faster than what the R9 390X delivers at even lower settings. You can check out the benchmarking footage of each of the five games tested below.

I'll wait for the official reviews. That would be nice.

Me too.  We all know AMD/Nvidia loves to cherry pick tests to show the product in a far better light than it performs on averge, such as when they claimed the R9 Fury was the fastest card in the world, etc.

Actually AMD was conservative with tests so far, they showed 6,3 in Steam VR (very bad test btw as CPU play a big role) but card scores 6,8-7, and CF AotS test they did is 100% true.

    Anyway, best RX480 review

Thats how reviews should be done. Detailed analysis, efficieny, tesselation... ... ...

Had my RX 480 8gb for a day now and I am impressed with what this card can do. If you play at 1080 this card won't let you down. I bought the 8gb as the ram is slightly faster than the 4gb plus I am looking at going 1440 at some point.

Actual results not quite what this leak had hoped, but I wouldn't exactly call them disappointing either. Barring the potential PCI power issue, and supply issues, this could be a big hit.

i have the feeling the 1060 is around the corner. It will probably be marginally  faster than the 480, but I also guess it will sit at the $250-275 price range.

Let's wait and see what a GTX 1060 is.  If it's a 1080 cut in half, that would tend to be slower than an RX 480, especially with only a 128-bit memory bus.
