Hi to one and all,
Over the past few years I have had some difficulty falling asleep
and often wake many times durring the night. I started taken a mild
medication to trigger deep sleep with some mixed results.
Though this may sound coincidental but since I have started playing
EVE I have slept like a baby without any interruptions. I could not place
my finger on why but thought it may be due to looking at the same space
backgrounds for hours on end. Also I find looking at still pictures of
player characters quite effective in lowering my eyelids and triggering deep
sleep. Another plausible reason could be starring somewhat hypnotically at
an asteriod for ages while I mine it. Anyway I have ceased taking medication
and feel completely refreshed the next day, kind regards.

You know the really funny thing? I have the opposite problem, I'm narcoleptic (hence the name sleepyguyftl). And I have a horrible time, not just with Eve, but with all MMO's. There have been many a time where I have fallen asleep only to wake up a minute or two later dead.
Yeah EVE is great.. One minute it puts you to sleep and the next minute your heart is lodged somewhere in your throat as you realize 50 BoB ships just jumped through and your most likely their primary target!
Sleepy i sympathize with you. Playing games with that problem would suck but then everything would suck with that problem. I'm just the opposite i cant fall asleep to save my life.
Make a difference!
I've noticed the same thing. I really like the game mind you, but I have been sleeping better the past few days...
Hmmm... relaxing? The new female voice (she makes me calm I think), music (the music is nice and calming), nice easy pace (good flow, just when I think it's taking too long to get to point A I'm there or cargo is full or pirate blows up).
aye, like someone else said, eve is a very mellow game wich is probably why your adrenaline starts pumping at an insane rate when in danger of loosing your ship. You cant get that experience from any other game.

Uh I think the original poster was hinting at sarcasm and somewhat bashing the game in a subtle way. Don't know if you all missed that.
In response - EVE Online is not for everyone. The developers themselves admit this and they know the game they have created is niche. While you may find it tediously boring, others find it immersive and exuberating. With almost 100,000 subscribers (according to CCP), EVE Online will be here for a long time - plenty of time to catch up on your Zzz's
I have the opposite problem. When trying to sleep my mind is racing, thinking of what I will be doing the next day in Eve. Yes, I play too much and Eve is just too good and getting better and deeper with more things to do with each patch (which are free unlike most other MMORPG) ...
Come out to Delve and we will see how it effects your sleeping problems. *wicked grin*
