Recently CBS Paramount released guidelines for Star Trek fan movies. You can find them here:
http://www.startrek.com/fan-filmsThis was of course triggered by Axanar, the ST fan movie that raised more than the allowed amount of money and created this trailer for iirc $10k "Prelude to Axanar"... which I would love to link if were not for those guidelines. The trailer is 20ish min long and anything above 15min is illegal. So linking that would imo amount to sharing IP infringing content and I dont want to starve for the next years in prison.
So given that most Star Trek fan movies released in the last decade are now illegal and will be taken down soon, because they break those guidelines, I wonder what you think about that.
Do CBS/Paramount have a real concern in protecting their IP or should things like 31minutes 2 part fan flims with a budget over $50k be allowed?
