NightDive Studios has opened its KickStarter crowd-funding initiative for its remake of System Shock. The team hopes to raise $900,000 during the course of the campaign. To help "sell" the game to backers, a pre-alpha demo of some of the earliest content has been released to allow fans to "try before you buy".

I backed it definitely but I think that there are a couple things in play here:
1) KickStarter fatigue is real
2) The Nostalgia Factor is so prevalent EVERYWHERE -- movies, TV, games. While I love trying to recapture the past, maybe there's simply too much of it and you start to wonder whether or not there are original ideas out there anywhere
But I think you're right on stretch goals -- pretty "iffy", I think.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That said, I only care about the 1.3 and 1.4M goals. The rest seem pointless to me.
