"grouped on past performance", interesting... but only if the game's pvp battlefields are a high volume affair.
Not pay to win is great, but why even put items in the item shop.. Might as well just sell costumes. See if they hold out when no one buys something, because 90% as good isn't going to interest anyone.
But perhaps you're right, perhaps Nexon just want the NA/EU players to be happy, so they're giving them everything for free...

No such thing as a balanced PvP experience. All classes would have to be exactly the same or just have one class.

But "90% as good" could start looking a whole lot better once you realise that you have to grind like 20 hours solid for just one item in the set, lol
You don't honestly think they'd put that stuff in the shop if it wasn't going to sell, do you ?

That ranch is looking good, sealing is another grind, I hope the ranch get released soon.
If you guys don't think this will turn into a P2W fest of a game because a developer from Nexon made some temporary changes to get rid of them... well you are just deluding yourself. Developers aren't exactly known for telling the truth. This is just a company running up to their budget limit and trying to get some quick sales.
in 1month the tune will change.....if not before that , is a mmorpg , f2p with cash shop and pvp of course it will be P2W...if the game doesnt die before reachign that point
If anyone recalls, Blade and Soul started with a no pay to win cash shop then maybe a month after launch rng boxes were added that contained important items used for upgrading gear that were extremely difficult to get at that time. I quit after that so I don't know if anything has changed.
My point is never say never when it comes to f2p games with cash shops not being pay to win.

This is Nexon. If it's not P2W at launch, it will be very VERY shortly. Take it from someone who loves (Nexon's) Atlantica Online as a game, played it for 7 years and knows EXACTLY how these scum bags work.
Not pay to win my ass. If the game is not going to be pay to win, then why are there items in the founder's pack which increase stats and give shit tons of bonus? This is nexon we are talking about. Please dont make a post without insufficient reserch. There are already tons of stats on costumes. Can't believe me? Go check it out yourself. Oh and check the founders pack too.
Played a bit but stopped due to crippling fps bug. Be aware that some nvidia cards seem to have a problem where anytime an interaction icon appears FPS drops massively making the game pretty much unplayable. No word on a fix yet.
P2W:
1) There is an item that improves upgrade success rates.
2) Lock boxes contain RNG chance for mount skins which have significant stats (+ movement speed).
2)
The way you get upgrade items is by breaking down gear.
- You get gear
pieces from dungeons which have a lockout timer. - This timer can be
bypassed with a cash shop item. - P2W players can run dungeons all day and
get tons of upgrade stones to make superior gear or just sell the
gear/stones and make money much faster than non-P2W players.
Even paying the 15 a month premium will not give you this advantage. Dungeons runs = micro-transactions.
3) Talent points require farming mounts but you can only farm mounts so quickly (energy). Of course there is a cash shop item for that.

you like coming to mmorpg because people like this guy are correct then? the founders packs have stat boost items already...so unless those are reasonably obtained in game it is indeed already P2W - any combat advantage obtained only from real money transactions in a PvP game is P2W, no matter how small the advantage.

And the above is EXACTLY why I refuse to play such a game. I had a horrific time with mechanics such as these in another game "Cabal", and never again. I guess if youre gonna play a Nex$on game (or any Korean MMO) this is going to be expected. Im sure the whales will have a WHALE OF A TIME with this title. Moving along I suppose.
You can't run dungeons infinitely, while it's true you can remove the cd timer all dungeons cap at 10 tries. Since the dungeons are all located in the same zone, you can run 2 dungeons at once and not feel the effects of a cd, all classes can solo elite dungeon on easy mode. You can purchase skins with lucky coins which are also gotten within the game. Talent points are gotten every 10 levels, so this farm is very short, it's cheap enough to buy the item for sealing a very cheap price (provided you seal at level 10 and under The monthly premium is 11.90 , there are 60 and 180 versions as well. Whales have no advantage in this game, while it's true founders do have an advantage at 30 and 60 day mark, but after that the advantage is gone. Items to break down gear is sold by vendors and not by the cash shop, so how is that relevant to being p2w?
Seems people only telling half truths trying to make some weird point.
While I despise ArchAge it actually had unique features like the class system, naval combat and in-depth crafting/housing.
Icarus has none of these things, its just a typical linear Korean game with RNG upgrade gear progression. The only slightly differentiating feature is the requirement to capture many mounts.
