Century from now...

...people will have more problem with picking what to enjoy doing first from all the movies, tv series, games, music and God knows what else technology will offer or they can be fighting for basic resources in a world full of radiation from nuclear bombs. You never know, you never know...

My guess is that we would be enslaved by a very fortunate alien civilization that will happen to be closest to our world with a superior technology which in a way is the karma we get for being enslaved today by this green paper someone prints out of his basement or the many 3rd world countries that provide us with so many things thanks to their willingness to work for a buck or two per hour or the way we are cruel toward all other species, especial those animals we choose to bring in this world only to slaughter to enjoy a nice evening meal. You never know, you never know....

What I know for certain is going back into this current century all that we have today for good or worse is what the generations behind left for us. We get to play crappy MMO's today, which is still far better than not having TV, game consoles, PC, the internet or a mobile phone. Still even today with all these things we get to have, most would still prefer what we had since the first days of humanity, which was a good F**K I mean, passionate sex. Ah, the irony...

So, at least you understand now why it takes longer for MMO's to evolve. You also know that a technology is truly advanced when it depends on multiple technological breakthroughs to happen. TV led to the PC and PC + the phone led to the internet, more importantly the internet speed and the PC hardware is still evolving. Once the technology reaches it's peak, once the mass market will have a cheap and affordable access to the latest technology then the waters will be more calm and developers can focus on delivering the perfect MMO experience without worrying too much about new engines, new technologies that might triumph their product.

Imagine how it would be when this technology will be cheaply available anywhere in the world. Companies could develop and release MMO faster than ever from their regions and reach billions of potential customers instantly without any lag or difficulty with payment options or language barriers. There would be even technology where a foreign language MMO instantly gets translated to the popular region it reaches. Things like bugs, cheats, hacks and bots will also be almost nonexistent and more importantly with far better laws in place for virtual property companies will have far more resources to focus on delivering MMO's for all type of audiences.

Anyways, I just hope someone finds a way for me to be around longer in this world than I should otherwise I'll have to do it myself when I push like 50's because waiting and depending on others to get what I want clearly is not working as I would've hoped so. 5½ years of not good enough new game to open my wallet is just one example of that.
