I just watched the Warcraft movie a couple days ago. I thought it was good and it got me feeling very nostalgic about the good old Vanilla/BC/WotLK days. I've played on and off since then - mostly off - but I can't say I like where the game's been going over the years. The constant dumbing down of game play and the ever increasing use of instancing and group finders ended up turning me off the game completely. I didn't buy WoD.
I vaguely remember someone saying that this next expansion was going to do things differently. That the devs had - finally - understood what people liked so much about early WoW and that they were going to try and recapture the Vanilla spirit.
Is it true or was I dreaming ?
Will WoW go back to being an open world MMO or will it continue being a lobby dungeon crawler tailored for gamers with ADD and zero social skills ?

EDIT: i love the open world in WoW but i get sick of only doing quests or mindless killing.
AN' DERE AIN'T NO SUCH FING AS ENUFF DAKKA, YA GROT! Enuff'z more than ya got an' less than too much an' there ain't no such fing as too much dakka. Say dere is, and me Squiggoff'z eatin' tonight!
We are born of the blood. Made men by the blood. Undone by the blood. Our eyes are yet to open. FEAR THE OLD BLOOD.

I'm sure I'll get Legion eventually, but I don't expect much
Will Blizzard risk alienating their entire existing player base ? Probably not...
This feature list looks pretty meaty:

I specially like the World Quest system and the story only area. Also apparently the new talents will have to be unlocked by doing stuff in the world, I always liked unlocking stuff by doing stuff.
Last but not least, they won't be porting the dreaded garrisons over to Legion. That's a big plus for me cause they're the number one reason I didn't buy WoD.
