Healer

ub3rtank3rub3rtank3r Member Posts: 3

Hey all,

I've been playing tankers and scrappers since starting to play this game. Can someone recommend a great healer build for me? I want to play something a bit more challenging now that I know the game a bit better.

Thanks!

If you want to play a good healer be sure to focus on empathy. All teh powers are good but your main will be healing aura. Slot it as high as you can with heal and at least one end reducer. Your next will be heal other, and do very much the same here. As far as offensive ... well you can but mainly you are a medic and offense is not really where you should be.

Always stay close to the main tank or scrapper and keep them alive ... as they will keep you that way as well.

The choice of powers is up to you but I would suggest anything that would speed up End Regen and a big one is hover. (Trust me it saved my butt a few times when you fight anything that can do ground disruption)

    Have fun with it though

ok hopefully I have got to you in time before you made your character. The best healer is obviously the empathy line, now once you know that you have many other options as to what you want your secondary function to be.

From what I can tell you want a more challenging support character so I would suggest going conrtoller with all the crowd control spells as your primary and putting empathy as your secondary.

Remember a healer in pve is very easy because you can chain heal without having to worryt too much about agro. PvP on the other hand requires a few more skills. For example if there are 5 tankers beating the crap out of a team member a well placed aoe crowd control spell on them would be much more effective in keeping that mate alive than a heal.

I healed Mistwraith and all I got was this stupid tee-shirt!

If you want to make a healer and are unsure as to which kind (i.e. Defender or Controller), just download the hero planner from the Warcry site here: http://coh.warcry.com/index.php/content/community/plannertool/heroplanner.php

It will help you decide which archetype to go with and when you get certain powers and what they are. Its a pretty usefull tool.

Do you consider others support as well?

I see many missions been done extremely easily with a bubbler, of course a bubbler may find it a little more boring, but after you ''buff'' your group...it change everything.

Also, consider this, a primary is roughtly 15% stronger then a secondary, so it make a good difference in the long run(to be either a controller or an empath).

If your really looking for a challenge as a healer you could go with Controller Anything as your primary and Kinetics as your secondary.  In order to use Kinetics to heal you have to get tricky with it, because you heal off the enemy.  A good one for this is Gravity and Kinetics.  You hold the crowd in place and heal off enemies.  In order to keep blasters alive you really have to get tricky with picking targets for heals.  Kinetics has a huge heal though.  Very fun.  Illusion is good to pair with it too cuz you can heal your pets while they are in the melee.
