I was in the MMOs doldrums, tinkering with Wildstar, getting my alts through Star Wars, when Legion was announced. I re-upped and hopped back into the game. And I'm not sorry I did. I, too, bought some tokens, geared up my stable of alts with heirlooms and headed out into Azeroth.
I find the changes to the classes makes gameplay smoother and, frankly, switching between alts a lot easier. I did, however, switch my main from Beastmaster to Survival because BM is just too wimpy at the moment and really isn't on a par with either Survival or any other DPS class.
The changes to crafting interface are terrific.
My one complaint is their making Garrisons trivial this soon before Legion launch. I get that they wanted to get us out into the world for the upcoming invasions, but they've essentially made all of Draenor pointless. My plan is to level up through Draenor, but not do anything else there, since adds nothing whatsoever to the game.
I wish Blizzard hadn't done this. And I think they overly nerfed Garrisons. But I take their action as a kind of bad break up in which you tear up your lover's picture, purge your phone of every communication and delete his/her profile. It was a huge mistake and they never want to be reminded of being such fools again. That kind of break up. RIP WoD.
I returned to WoW a couple of months ago, in anticipation of Legion and to pass the time until some other games that interest me get released.
I had not played since 2009, so I just rolled a new character. It has been an interesting journey. Much is different than before. But it still has its charms.
EQ1, EQ2, SWG, SWTOR, GW, GW2 CoH, CoV, FFXI, WoW, CO, War,TSW and a slew of free trials and beta tests
I'll be back when they implement Legacy servers and not before.
For me, it's not so much about legacy servers, but rather about a return to the game designs that made WoW successful in the 1st place.
What game designs were those? WoTLK was when WoW was most successful, and I don't remember any huge swings in design. They need to release way more raids way faster though. The content droughts in WoW are utterly ridiculous.
Yeah I agree about the content drought's, I personally believe that WoW would have far more players now if it had run a yearly expansion release, rather than the 2 yearly one it seems to run atm.
I played WoD from release for about a year then ran out of content, so break for a year and back for Legion and looking forward to it.

WOTLK was where WoW crested, but it was not what made WoW most successful Vanilla WoW brought in 8 Million TBC Brought in another 3 Million WOTLK only brought in 1 Million
Beta to BC is where my vehicle stopped to get gas. I purchased CATA, PAN and DRAE; Legion too.
Having my history out of the way, I can focus on the topic. 'Getting back to WoW' may be a capricious move on my part (see top statement).
Notice that I only purchased the expansions but could not get into them. Cataclysm ripped my heart out of my chest and took away my glasses of illusion (GOI). Without them, I am left with the truth that WoW is truly an MMORPGA -The 'A' stands for Arcade.
Even now, as I await Legion, I have a stack of quarters that will help me decide if playing WoW is really something I need to be doing. Yes. I did say 'need'.
I am excited, as usual, and hope that something will bring back the days of old in my heart.
Thanks for the space to release my thoughts!

What are you wanting out of garrisons? The only nerfed Gold missions. Those were insane.
