System Requirments for Hex: Has my old PC finally met it's match?

Definitely getting a new, monster PC this fall but anyways...

7 years ago I got this trusty old Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 @ 2.66GHz with 4gb RAM and currently has a GTX 550 Ti in it.

Every year I plan to buy a new PC but this thing keeps playing the games I want to play so I just haven't gotten around to it!  So sitting here at work for the next few hours and I had planned to download HEX when I get home but I looked at the system requirements..

Core i3-2120 @ 3.30GHz!

Is something that my rig simply won't be able to overcome?

My rig has run so many games above expectations over the last 2 years that I'm just in denial that I can't play HEX when I get home lol.  I know things change though, have I finally met my match?

The system requirements are a dual core, while you've got a quad core.  If the game scales well to four cores, you're right near the system requirements and should be fine.  If the game is completely single threaded, you're likely to be in trouble.  It wouldn't hurt to try it and find out, and if you've got the other infrastructure for it (motherboard, power supply, and CPU cooler), a Core 2 Quad is likely to overclock quite well.

Sweet.  Going to load it up as soon as I get home and see what happens.  Work is such a grind tonight, I can't wait.

I have yet to be stopped by any game and my PC is not much better although yes a more modern chip but a very low end gpu.
I would fully expect you can play the game but as happens to me ,you just can't play it at full max but that is hardly ever noticed as a major flaw.

Game works just fine btw.  Not a single hiccup.  My only downfall is my 1650x1080 monitor is making some of the small print hard to read while playing.  Getting a new monitor is going to be just as exciting as getting a new rig soon.
