I think Legion will add some much needed changes to the game since Warlords, I am looking forward to it. It is very comical on how much non love I have seen for WOW in MMORPG from players, but like all the ranting most trolls do I m sure I will see them at expansion launch, spreading the same love in General chat.

I'll pass. I've been suckered one too many times by this company. If I hear great things this fall, maybe I will reevaluate. But there's absolutely no reason to buy in at launch or the first month or two afterwards. You might recall, everyone thought WoD was gold plated until we cracked open the easter egg to discover a turd.

I'm very pleased with the pre-patch. Combat is very engaging now for melee specs. A lot better animations, sound effects (character even makes noises), and you can feel the weapons connect as your fighting. Transmog system is great. As for people bashing WoD. To each their own. I thought WoD was fine until after their last raid patch. So for about 9 months, 12 if you're extremely slow, you had plenty to do. After that, it wasn't worth subbing for. If you don't like story based questing, dungeons with varying difficulty, raids with varying difficulty, and persistent PvP areas, then yeah I can see why you didn't like the expansion. Legion is promising more of the same, with some evolution in some of their quest delivery mechanisms. Nothing new to the genre, just new to WoW. Either way, I enjoy it so far. Oh, and Lleith, the whole point in joining upon release of an expansion is to give yourself the best chance of getting into a raid group so you can experience the best content in the game.

    Bill said "Slew" again xD.

    Thanks for the updates Bill!

Looking forward to Legion, can't say I am on board with anything else mentioned.

I think everybody is talking about MMORPGs failing site update and not WoW :)

I'm enjoying the patch myself. I'm really impressed by the sheer scope of the class changes.

Obviously, it's way too early to tell if it's for the better or not in the longer term. But right now, the game feels a bit fresh - which, to me, it hasn't felt like in many years.

Have been playing WoW off and on for a number of years now, but, not sure about the changes recently, Hunter Beast spec used to be fairly fun to play, but now, its a class that seems to specialise in dying repeatedly, probably not suitable for solo play anymore, and this was even using a tank class pet at level 100, so have pretty much permanently retired that char now, in favour of a 'tankadin' level 95, again a lot of changes there too, so not sure if will even stick with it, so far, there really is not much incentive to consider buying Legion when it comes out, think this one might be the first time i'll actually not be buying the expansion at all, bit of a first for WoW, as i've always bought them in the past. O.o

Not sure what you are doing but my hunter in beast is top 3 dps in raids and able to solo just fine.

Yeah, kinda use to it unfortunately. :(
We have a regular FFXIV column, which is more than you can say about most games. They're one of the few that get that treatment.

Try to be excellent to everyone you meet. You never know what someone else has seen or endured.

Admittedly this was solo, but was doing one of the area quests, iron front, using a rhino pet, normally very tanky, but, mend just wasn't managing to keep up with the damage dealt to it, and once it died, my character died, frustrating, as before the changes, had no problems at all doing this content, but since the skills have all been reset, and now some are missing, the ability to keep pet alive is severely reduced, and as a beast spec you die pretty much seconds after your pet does, i don't know about raids etc. never had any interest in them so can't comment how the class does in them, but as solo, its really not good.

Item level on my hunter btw, is 665.

Be honest Bill, Rider's of Icarus sucks. Terribad graphics, bad gameplay, 2004 questing system... Why are mmo maker's putting out such utter trash. Its this kind of stuff that makes me worry for the mmo genre as a whole, totally unacceptable.

The WoW Legion patch was "by and large well recieved"?

How clueless can you possibly be MMORPG.com?

You gave that steaming pile of crap an 8.1?

How much did blizzard have to pay for that one?
