This old site is pretty close to the end of what we can do with it to keep it on the up and up. We absolutely need a new design, and it's not us out of our depth frankly. But rather the coders who can't seem to get the infrastructure right.
And visually, this site is broken. It's an antique, and not in a good way. It doesn't even have a fully functional mobile site. If we are to survive until the point when this sort of modular design is cool again (these things are cyclical after all), we need a new site and code base that's built to last.

IMO this whole site upgrade has become a total embarrassment for those who are involved in the coding.
For how long was the new page in the making? We have been told that it would be coming "soon" for YEARS.
First try to get it live. Failed, postponed. Second try, failed after 2(?)days, postponed. Bugs, bugs, bugs.
When will be the next "soon"?
A professional company couldn't afford
to spend more than about 3 month -all incl.- for the set up of a medium sized projekt like this (and it is not like you have to get the new site's content together in first place, as it is already there). Otherwise they would be out of business.
Upgrades like these
happen on a daily basis allover the interwebnets, it's not like a rocket launch to the moon. And yet here it is the most
desperate attempt.
You are a professional website, what about you hire some professionals?
This site admins probably have next to no control over this issue. It's mostly out of their hands leaving them at the mercy of their hoster. It's a bad reflection on all to be sure. But the failure probably lies in third party work. Go easy on the admins here. They don't want this as much as we don't.

It is embarrassing. For the developers.

This, basically. As grumpy as some of you may feel about this back and forth... Imagine what it's like to be us.

As of today I can't read a single comment attached to any article. DARK text on a black background has suddenly appeared which does old eyes no favours whatsoever O.o
@BillMurphy I'd say welcome back... but I think you done broke this site so bad.. my eyes are getting a migraine just looking at it. (between the mixed fonts (forum, typing, etc) to the ridiculous color scheme. I just dunno. Is there an option somewhere to make it LOOK like the old site? I mean even if it's a spoof? Like a '67 Convertible with all new NOS and stuff under the hood ( I know nothing about cars but you get the idea)
New forum skin... blinding white ugh... No thread page navigation at top, double ugh.
IMO if a paid third party is making the swap over a lawsuit is in order.
Also, note to whoever, when swapping over a website, make a copy on the same host with a temporary domain name. Make all your changes there and when you get it working, swap the temp name to the actual name. Meanwhile old site unaffected through the change process...
Just use Wordpress and change out the theme as needed lol
I know you're being a little tongue in cheek here, but honestly some of my favorite non-MMORPG sites to visit over the past year are Wordpress sites. There's a ton of really good looking, mobile friendly, themes out there that you can pull off of a shelf and graft forum software onto.

No offence but you guys are obviously out of your depth, leave it as it is or add smaller changes gradually.

1. Black on somewhat darker text.
2. Posted a reply to the GW2 article; it came up as a post attributed to an undefined forum subject.
And folks should chill; just give the team feedback
Edit:
3. Links still not working
4. Black / white option only working on the page you are on, reverts to white when you go to a new page.
