Ya, only thing this will be good for is watching movies and shows.
which I think the impact of is highly under rated. By that I mean I think watching movies and shows is going to be the primary use of VR and that said experience is very compelling, not for people like but for the general population.
I dont think its going to be anything big. I just cant see families all sitting with Phones strapped to their faces to watch a show together. Even then, till you can sync media between more than one device, its really a solo experience.
Porn sells extreemly well and somehow I doubt the family is watching porn together.
1 in 4 households are 1 person only living in the home. Everyone else is snuggled up to each other sharing notes on their movie watching experience?not 100% and not 100% of the time
The way you take left turns makes its hard to have a conversation with you. I never said anything about porn. I was talking about shows and movies or were you trying to reply to someone else?

playing an MMORPG?"

as it relates to this conversation porn and movies are in the same orbit. Something you sit down and watch on a screen.
Point is there are PLENTY Of people who watch content on a screen be it movies, TV, news or porn by themselves, in a room by themselves or together with no fucks given. please try to keep up here
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
Sure you can simulate VR on things like phones, but my point was why would you? It is crap compared to what you can get with real VR. So no I don't see this going anywhere unless phones get a lot more powerful.
If you want to do VR get an outfit that will do it properly, not half assed!

I think the difference is in movies, TV and porn. Those items do not become better because they are on a PC based VR setup. PC VR is good when you can do heavy interactivity with the environment.

Besides, when's the last time anyone here actually paid for porn?
From what i've read, VR mobile still needs better motion tracking, so that's already a negative in my book. Without motion tracking, VR is basically a screen strapped to your face. I don't know if Note 7 will have this or not.

This was genuinely funny - well done. I'd give more LOLs if I could.

Compared to nothing - what most people have - "VR" on phones is a huge step forward.
Imagine this was a discussion 10 or so years ago:
Sure you can simulate films on phones but the screens are miniscule and the quality is rubbish so why would you when you can watch them on e.g. a top end 42 inch TV.

It is an old Internet trick. Eventually say all combinations so later you can point back to it and say you knew that would happen!
