I was curious - but I can't stand YouTube "personalities" that emphasize their own personality over the content. Meaning, I can't stand 90% of what's on YouTube.

After about 2 minutes - I had enough of this guy endlessly forcing lazy humor into a video that's supposed to give me some insight into the game.
all the hive videos are like that :/ , dunno why u expected otherwise
I'm sure they are. I didn't expect anything - because I didn't know the person involved.

Well, that's not quite true. I expected to learn about 5 reasons to love GW2 - not to hear some desperate-for-attention guy trying to be funny.

It's no big deal, it's just not something I wish to spend time listening to.

Let's just say I'm not a big fan of watching YT personalities in general. I'm slowly starting to realise that useful and relevant information isn't to be expected from YT videos - unless you're willing to spend a lot of time digging through endless egos doing their best to be popular with the masses.

I think you took what is supposed to be tongue in cheek too seriously. I love the hiveleader.
You're probably right. My mistake for preferring concise and relevant information over forced and lazy humor.

I'm doing my best to stick to reading when it comes to new information about games - but it seems we're trending towards videos full of pointless filler material, and I'm just not patient enough for everyone to get their shot at celebrity.

Unless I'm in the mood for people being insecure and mediocre trying to sell themselves - I really just want to know a few details that could easily be delivered in 20 seconds instead of 5 minutes.

Me, I quite dislike what they did to the classes squeezing them into very narrow specializations. What if I dont want to play this way?

Then don't play that way. I have multiple level 80s in GW2 (thanks sPvP books!) and I run some characters without the specialization at all, and no, you're not gimped.

Youre telling me the specializations dont make you more effective than vanilla builds?

But Hive, GW2 had healers from day one! They are called "Elementalists". ;)

    Cheers.
Guardians can do some nice aoe heals as well.

Nowhere near as good as a healer Tempest though which is a problem.
Anet made the "specialisations" so strong that you need them if you want to stay competitive.
It probably helped the HoT sales but it hurt the game.

The quality is good, but the game style is a bit outdated...

They can change the class balance all day long, add so called "specializations" or remove them, that doesn't change that they basically threw everything that made the original so fun out of the window.

I'll wait to the day's end when the moon is high
And then I'll rise with the tide with a lust for life, I'll
Amass an army, and we'll harness a horde
And then we'll limp across the land until we stand at the shore

What is the other game at 3:23?

I actually enjoy GW 2 and play it every 6 months or so. Ironically I am actually playing GW1 right now and remembering how much fun it can be.  I am still learning new things about GW1.

They were not really full healers back then, they could run healing + support but I never teamed up with a good ele who just was a healer in the vanilla game.  The druid is far closer to healers in other MMOs even if they still do other stuff then just heal even now.

Damn, if GW2 is outdated for you, your MMO selection is really really limited.

I agree however i don't condone anyone else for liking it,to each their own.I can't even really tape it down and say exactly why,i guess because to me it sounds sort of immature,i like the more serious approach but like i said,to each their own.

As to the game, way over rated and because of the very egotistical devs, way over stated.
The design is imo very boring and generic. It destroys so much of what a mmorpg should be that between GW2 and WoW it is a total destruction of the genre.
It has npc's out in the field,is that something amazing to look forward to?Likely for all of us ,nope.

Ok so their purpose,is that something to get excited about?Nope

The zones, exciting or just more of that generated terrain, grass, trees  and those few npc's?
Combat good or stale or way out in left field?Well depends if you believe ANY of what the devs try to convince you to believe. It also depends on what you believe a ROLE should be in a role playing game.I don't believe that discussion is narrowed down to a definitive answer,so of course we have many opinions.

I have felt from the very first day, more so GW2 than GW1,that the devs were the worst blemish on the game, they tried to convince people their game was sent down by god himself. We are doing this and we do that better over and over, yet to me and likely others, they were doing pretty much NOTHING but chitchat, talk talk and bragging.
All i know and my opinion should not matter because you should always use your own judgment, but to me the game is not very good, could not excite me at any point during my several tries.

I have to agree with some others on how great the Elementalist and their specialization Tempest are. Ele was always a great support role previously on Staff, having all the typical skills - heals, cc, debuffs, buffs, damage, movement, pets, and they could create and finish their own combos for some great effects so it was always a ton of fun for those of us who enjoy support. The addition of the Tempest specialization has just made it even more fun.

I'd definitely suggest you make an Ele/Tempest as your next character Hive Leader. Maybe you can get yourself some Tomes of Knowledge for quick leveling if you want. You'd enjoy it.

Lol... would it be better if he had no personality? Maybe next time he could just use text-to-speech so robots such as yourself have an easier time.

    How profoundly sad ....

Boobs are LIFE, Boobs are LOVE, Boobs are JUSTICE, Boobs are mankind's HOPES and DREAMS. People who complain about boobs have lost their humanity.
