No Man's Sky seems very much like a single player experience. It's completely different to games like WoW. From what I've read, it might be very interesting to try, but perhaps not something that will keep you interested for months.
When it comes to Rift and WoW what I suggest is that you try them before you buy. Maybe you have tried Rift? If not download the trial / game. Obviously you haven't tried WoW - in which case the level 100 boost is not something you should be considering, better option download the trial and play a few characters to level 20.
I play WoW, its the best choice currently.
Starting out with a high level toon first isn't fun because you will get pretty confused for a long time, the early levels are made so it teaches you how things work. At least do the trial up to level 20 and see how you like that, it will makes things far easier when you buy the game anyways, and you wont spend money supporting the game if it turns out that the game isn't for you.
Yes, start out with a level one character and quest through the different zones. Its fun. I still play alts. In fact I recently made a gnome hunter and have been playing with him for 2 weeks, he is level 40 already.
I would still suggest the trial though for anyone thinking of returning since a) we forget b) the game has changed c) you may no longer like it.
I choosed warlock on the good old Dreanor server EU..its just wierd to me how they made the skill for each spec..ect i cant cast shadow bolts in destruction spec...the dps skills seems to be minimized to fewer cast skills..before in lich king days i remember i had like 6-8 bars full of skills
