I am sure those that queue up for 2 hours to play at the Star Citizen booth at GamesCom also "have zero intention of buying Star Citizen" according to your narrative. Especially when they can fly for free this weekend. And they queue around the hall for something they can also play AT HOME FOR FREE. I guess many of those just want to meet the team and share the excitement.
Have fun
People do stupid things. I was at Universal Studios Monday it was 100degrees F and the line to ride Harry Potter was 120 minutes. Then of course they all had to buy the wands that range from 40-60 bucks.
Obviously these people spent a lot of money and it might be a yearly vacation for them. But still ridiculous to me. But those people there standing in line, maybe there isnt a lot to do there and that is the most excitement they will have this year.
They also might htink that the version there is 2.5 (the super secret one only a few backers get to play) and thus they do get a chance to play something not everyone can (yet).
Or maybe they just want the experience or have a story to tell people that 'they were there'.
Also a two hour line waiting to play a video game isnt all that impressive either. I remember when I was a kid and we would go to Sears and they had the Atari 2600 out and there would be 40 kids waiting to play pong. Time standing is line is proportionate to the amount of people there, the amount of stations available to play and the time they give each person to play the game when they finally get there. So its all just empty numbers without context.
Thats why I cite the stream numbers and viewer numbers and put them in context with the amount of claimed interest in this game, the amount of claimed accounts, the amount of claims actual sales of packages.

Its easy to say something (even something that might be technically true) its another to say it and have all the other pertaining 'facts' or circumstances that puts a frame of reference on it.
Another pathetic attempt to mock and dismiss something not aligning with your PoV.
First you call people stupid and then write a long text filled with abstract BS trying to validate your claim.
I have a better explanation about why people are queueing in SC's both. A mind control message is running beneath what is shown on the screens.
Its easy to say something (even something that might be technically
true) its another to say it and have all the other pertaining 'facts' or
circumstances that puts a frame of reference on it.
The above coming from you is the epitome of hypocrisy.
It's funny, that's usually your tactic.
Show me one post of mine where i call anyone stupid and then write a wall of text filled with nothing trying to justify my claim.
Ok so I'm watching the stream. How is it that he piloted directly to those beacons without any visual indicators on the screen. Not any that I took notice to any way. Anybody else take notice? Ended with the emphasis on "unscripted adventure"
Looks cool I'll admit, though I cant help being skeptical.
Yeah ill have to watch again when its all over. What did he say thay might not be able to show because of a nasty bug? I could quite hear because I was driving. I was listening in my car.
**EDIT**
Ok finding that destroyed ship and searching it in space was pretty damn cool
It was an interesting watch. Not overly excited by what i saw but it should be obvious even to the die hard detractors that the game is coming along and systems are falling in place.
it looks like that they may actually manage to ship 2.7 by the end of this year. Which would be awesome.
I didnt hear the word Squadron, or the number 40 or two mentioned, let alone anything about Squadron 42.
They had the usual fluff piece closed system scripted encounter with an oh so not obvious 'reveal' of a ship they just sold a shitload of a couple months ago. Which will undoubtedly go back on sale tonight or tomorrow.
Good for what it ws but with absolutely NOTHING mentioned about SQ 42 what you saw today wont be playable by anyone but these guys for about 8 years (if ever. yeah I said it)
It was neat to see there is progress. but its very clear this game is a very VERY long long time from releasing. I'll have to rewatch later, i was up and down from the computer so i missed a bunch of stuff.
Stream ended with 6912 viewers. Just shy of 7000 (they would have raffled a "special price" at 7000+ ... although Constellation Phoenix was nice too ... and half a dozen other ships too).
And i expect there will be many more for the New Features Show in the evening.
Have fun
If they DONT have the giveaways how many viewers do they have? Its no coincidence the viewership goes up as the give aways get better(and they entice more people by saying what each benchmark will be). I also suspect most of those are randoms who have zero intention of buying Star Citizen but do in fact know the 'value' of selling some of the stuff they give away. But yeah a game with 1.5 million accounts and 500K + verified (allegedly) people with access, and a company that boasted selling 17K ships in an 8 hr period a couple months ago managed to have 7K people follow their stream. Its still half to a third what one would think would be even modest viewership for this game.
Go look at random Hearthstone numbers or League of legend twitch stream numbers. I bet there are 4 or 5 people with over 10K viewers right now.
My German is a bit rusty but the article writes about CR stating that 2.6 is just weeks away (!!) along with Star Marine. The later and Arena Commander will take place in dedicated separate instances for the time being.
Looks like 2.7 will indeed make it till the end of 2016.
They will show SQ 42 at CitizenCon in October says Chris Roberts !
Applause and cheers all around
42726 viewers :-D
Have fun
It got above 45K for a few seconds near the end.
For fans it looked awesome I am sure, but it was still nothing really close to what a 'real' server play session would be or should be expected to be. Also not sure how much 'progress' it shows. It is just a different skin to what they already have.
PG planets arent hard and they certainly arent genre changing.
Also the whole 'its seamless' got a little over done. Its obvious what he was trying to do but we all know that if they try and implement what they just showed into a MMO scenario it wouldnt work. It only worked because they ran it on a closed super driven system. I will let all the armchair developers and experts field those observations.
But my original comments remain the same they better have something 80-85% retail ready in Oct in regards to SQ 42. if not then its still more of the flash and hype and little substance.

Article has also critical words .... author recognizes the many small errors and glitches and shudders when he thinks about the extremely ambitious scope of the game and the timeline.
In other parts of the article he is very impressed by the things he has seen.
Well when 3.0 drops I think I'll finally have to sate my curiosity and download it. I have not tried the alphas yet.
I'm impressed with what they showed. I have no doubt that they are working very hard to try and build an epic game. I hope all the detractors inspire the team to make the end product that much better.
I have no problem giving Star Citizen another two or three more years to bake in the oven. Hopefully they can finish it.
LMAO it SHOULD shouldnt it? Shouldnt a 'premier' of the biggest hyped game which has (allegedly) raised more money than any other kickstarter game in history get 50K viewers? Or more than some random stream of a game not many people care about? I also said random streamers, as a whole those games have 125-200K viewers at any given time during the day. LoL anyway. Hearthstone will have from 50-150K at any given time.
So the 42K (which was actually around 46K for a few minutes actually) is basically the entire audience that SC can muster during one of its showcase streams.
But at least the streamers showed up and some of them werent disappointed I guess even though it was basically a remake of the thing from almost a year ago. But why bore people with details.
Also for people thinking this will make it into the game in 3 or 4 months. NYX was showcased about a tear ago and it hasnt been heard about since, and it was basically a dumbed down version of what they showed today.
Nyx clearly suffered a design change, from that small asteroid base to one actual planetoid making use of the PG tech, so instead of having the Nyx "on-rails" landings as it was meant before, now it was already added in-game on seamless transition.
Some of it was really cool, nice to see it becoming a proper game. There were quite a few things I really did not like but overall I thought it was a very good demo.
Hopefully they manage to get it out by the end of the year, I would actually give that a go.

So after all it's no such engine footage to be all they had to show, well there's the answer, multiplayer in-game footage with this already working.

So showing a multiplayer in-game demo of this working and so on is pretty cool. Some parts seem more raw and rough, but overall was quite cool.
Now when it comes to deliver all of this by the end of this year, should require some healthy skepticism.
