Mobo and Processor

BlinxerBlinxer Member CommonPosts: 120

I'm thinking about getting a better processor, right now I'v got an AMD athlon. Also it would help if it was compatible with the Aopen AK73 mobo, but I'm thinking of replacing that to.. So I was wondering if u could recomend any processors or motherboards. Anyway I really don't no much about the hardware side of my computer so all help is appreciated::::19::

Well if I were getting a motherboard and CPU, I'd get a DFI SLI board so I can run two video cards in the future and for a processor, some kind of San Diego core AMD.

That's more on the expensive side. Since I'm guessing you want a good budget CPU and motherboard, try an AMD socket 754 processors/mobo. Your board is socket A, old and discontinued I believe, I doubt it's even worth upgrading from what you have. The top of the line 754 processor is a 3700+ and it's only $275 on ZipZoomFly. Then pick a nForce 3 chipset mobo. It doesn't really matter which you pick if you aren't going to be overclocking. Also note that you won't be upgrading the 754 in the future either since AMD is only making 939 now, the 3700+ is the best you'll do.
