Originally posted by Kane Personally, I want full, open, lootable PvP. HOWEVER, I want a very strict system of laws and factions. If you harm someone from inside your faction (steal, kill, etc) they pay the price. If you harm someone from another faction, it could lead to war.

This is not a carebear post, this is for people to get their voice out to game devs to what is the more popular gaming style.
That is how the entire discussion was footed and framed.
Maybe I should have worded it differently however the quote in my pre-emptive post is simply enough to get my blood boiling.
This is not my intent, I just want a game for me and the obvious ruling denomination of players voting on this forum. These are people that could be my friend enemy or random pker in the game and I'd still like them all the same, thanks for your opinion however... But this thread is about pvp and how people want it, the fact of the matter is there is not enough variety in the mmorpg market and I am hoping that some wandering eyes may see this one day and say "Why not".
And someone asked, how does that help the noob, I agree, screw noobs but like i said a few posts before that, give the noob some exp and respawn them in a different noob area so that they may get a little bit of leveling done.
Oh and when I say "More popular gaming style" I mean to me and the ones that vote YES to chaotic pvping, this is my more popular gaming style, sorry to use a carebear example. Im sorry but playing the single player of "super smash brothers" or "dead or alive" or "Halo 2" as opposed to the multiplayer options, is not as fun --- Why would this same principal not be put into ONE game, But I guess you could look at Everquests generation like Super Mario Brothers, World of Warcrafts Generation like Super Mario Cart, and hopefully this new type of game like those previously listed, It just more fun to play Against AND With other players.
I like building a castle and guarding it with my very life. I like surviving in the wilderness to find that much needed skill upgrade and I like exploring the depths of a dungeon not only having to worry about good AI but other players feeding off of my work.
People think it's fun to pretend your a monster. Me I spend my life pretending I'm not. - Dexter Morgan
Levels and PVP Do not Mix, every game since UO that was level based PVP proved that Level based pvp was crap beyond any doubt.
Free open with Very stiff penalties for ganking...Newbie areas I can agree with them being protected, simply because the only one who wants to kill the newbies anyhow is a griefing asshole, not because I necessarly want it any easier on the newbies. Chaos and Order associations was possibly the greatest Idea ever implemented..It allowed both factions to have full out war with the other anyplace, anytime even in town. Those not associated with one or the other however were safe in town to watch. Some of the greatest pvp wars I ever saw were Chaos/Order raids in town..
Good poll. I would like to see more pvp with no safety zones! Full on pvp would rock, I would like to see some of the new games incorporate such a system (even if it is only for 1 server)
World wide chaos with town guards that will wack reds, but out in the open its fair game. No levels just skills so now way to tell whos tuffer. And some way for the high levels not to be able to pk n00bs. Plus horses used IN battle not just to run. Or whatever mounts or vehicles you want. So basically like UO pre trammel with a BIT less n00b ganking. Oh, and open corpse looting and full blown crafting so noone cares if they lose their crap. Ahh I miss the horror show of blessed fun that was UO. All this talk about UO lately, I had really almost forgotten how fun it could be...
