Hey folks,
I'm adding to my classic game collection on Steam. Which do you recommend as a more fun, casual play-through experience, Baldur's Gate Enhanced or Icewind Dale Enhanced? Which has better stood the test of time? I played both when they were new, finishing BG and not making it through ID. I don't remember as much about them as I wish I did.
Thanks!

Wow, am I reading that right? BG, BG2 and IWD for $17.99?

Man, that makes the decision easy! Thanks!
Icewind dale was made a few years later, and while I ain't sure how much good the enhancement have changed things it is probably the better deal there. There is also a ID2, not sure in ID enhanced looks better or not (story wise are they basically the same, while BG2 have a rather different story then the first game, I did think BG was more fun then the sequel though).
Baldurs gate deserves a true remake, not just to be polished up to look like BG2. It was the best RPG of the 90s together with Daggerfall.
Anyways, BGs true strength have always been the great companions, something Bioware have sadly forgotten since. While the ME and DA companions are more advanced and you can interact more with them they lack the personality. It have far better story then the ID games. In the DA games about half the companions are so annoying that I never want to use them at all. In BG I wanted to use them all and was annoyed I had to pick a few.
Icewind dale is a true hack and slash game, the story is bad but if you enjoy dungeon hacks it is rather fun. And not all games need a great story to be fun, Diablos story was pathetic but it is still one of the best games made...

To the OP, this might be a good option, too.
