This game is really really terrible...UI is awful, animations are bad, character models are a joke, combat isn't fun or exciting, awful server performance.

The result of a test version of a game that was to echo in the foretold open-world mmo shooter but instead from all their surge of preorders and foolish steambuyers believed they could just make it into a really good "lobby shooter" with tons of bugs and glitches and lame gameplay because they all ready got the money so why bother, right?

So yeah just tried this out, after the game was scaled way back from open world MMO to an arena ahooter, it's still not even a good arena shooter game.

I mean even ignoring the rubber banding and just poorly optimized gameplay, it's still completely unimpressive.

    Just my 2c.

It was that scale back that took the game off my radar. This is the problem with early marketing of a game. Or perhaps better stated at marketing features you haven't yet added to your game.

Sad the game is not as optimized making people want refunds.

at least steams allows for that. Would be easier with an open beta weekend or trial instead.

Pity I loved the Dawn Of War the earlier games. "please sir,no more kicking" and it's better to be .... can't recall... Any way I definitely enjoyed the earlier games.

When it was originally announced, to it sounded like Planetside 2 with an NPC faction. I am all in for that game. Hopefully someone will make it.

I like lobby shooters on occasion but I am not even considering this one because it is not to be what I thought. Not to mention a lot of the reviews of its current state. Having played Space Marine, and enjoying it, this just sounds like it is a worse version with perhaps more options as playable characters.

Very sad about the Warhammer universe as a whole. I really wish they could come out with a good or even decent MMO or multiplayer shooter. It's been one of my favorite IP's for years (won't state how many because I would date myself lol).

Here's to hoping someone can put a good Warhammer game together, be it an MMO or some kind of shooter, before I kick the bucket.

I backed this in kickstarter LOL!

Had high hopes... They showed off the weapons, and character models...

But when I logged in the game 3 months ago... I was disappointed, but hopeful... cause they had 3 months to fix things.

    I guess they didn't.

Really wanted to buy into this but just didn't get around in doing so, dodged a bullet I guess. Besides me saving some money, massively disappointed that this is the result, it is not what I wanted or what was promised....

Just checked my account and saw that I bought all the most expensive founder packs more than 2 years ago.
I think the first closed alpha was about 1 year ago. It was a disappointing mess with the most horrible, clunky controls imaginable. I never touched it again and thought "well, it's alpha. they will fix it." Haven't really kept up with the game since, well, the transition from MMO to lobby shooter kinda made me lose all interest.
Received an e-mail yesterday that this game is going live. Tried it again and oh boy, gameplay is still the same as during closed alpha. How a game with such clunky and horrible controls can exist in 2016 is beyond me.
I am a hardcore 40k fan, but this game is almost as bad as Space Marine - and that's as unflattering as it gets.

I have hated games but never regretted purchasing a game. This is the first time I have been outraged regarding the quality and fun of a game. Fucking ridiculous its a shell of a game, that costs $50 bucks...

    they skipped beta test
they sold us MMOTPS but delivered arena MP shooter

The game doesnt even have the option to switch shoulder views. IT makes the camera get stuck in places and makes for a horrible shooting game to play if you have to aim to targets to the right.

This game is still in alpha. There is no persistent world. Orks aren't free to play. The UI feels like a place holder as does the advancement screen. Eldar can currently kill anything with 1-2 hits. The graphics aren't optimized leaving it unplayable to anyone that doesn't have a high end machine. Latency is horrible and causes rubber banding. The over the shoulder third person view is horrible and forces you do play from the right so if you are attacked from the left you can't see anything because your character takes up a third of the screen. Weapons and armor in the in-game store are only for looks and most factions only have a small handful of these available. It's also obvious that this game was made for consoles and not the PC. If I wasn't a die hard 40k fan I wouldn't touch this game with a 40 foot pole :(

This year has been an epic cluster of badly released rushed alpha/beta standard games with a full blown price tag, and folks the fault all lies with us, we are enabling this terrible behaviour, Early access has been a bane to gaming not a blessing.

Without Early Access crap games died earlier, some were never even started up at all, now we have a situation that leaves people feeling conned because any jackass can launch something, claim huge never gonna happen features, go early access, keep spewing lies till ready to run off with the cash.

Bought game pitched as open world MMOFPS.

Game scaled down to a lobby shooter.

Game released straight from alpha at a AAA price point.

Game infographic on Steam removed due to the fact most of the listed features don't exist.

New, much shorter infographic still lists missing features.

Steam's recent review policy changes prevent founder reviews from impacting game's overall score.

Behaviour Interactive is a bunch of lying con artists. I hope they all get eaten by ravenous squigs.

i just hate the way games release to early. i understand that they need cash, but i never saw this game enter beta and went from alpha to open release. from all the reports i have seen its been released buggy and crappy. give it another 6 months and it will probably be ok.

The only problem is will it still be up and running in 6 months if it's in such a poor state.

For such a big name it looks like an Indie mod rather than some full game by a quality team.

Models look terrible, the firing looks ok,i do prefer arena over open world for this type of combat but yes maps look like amateur hour similar to my complaints in OW.

IMO not even the legendary Quake series had very good skillful maps, yes they looked good/cool because of cool textures but imo Unreal maps and even those made by community have always been miles the best.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Most of the things people are saying is missing have been officially changed for well, over a year or something, ie when nathan took over. So not sure why anyone would be bitching about it not being an MMO or orks being f2p etc, except for maybe kickstarter backers but still it was changed ages ago.

Bought the game maybe 6 months ago when there was only space marines and chaos, mostly only played a couple of matches with each new patch.

The game isn't really bad, it's just.. unfinished. When you add an entire new faction 1 month from launch or whatever it was, things are not going to be polished. With that said, barring the rubberbanding and weird deaths from lag it's pretty fun stabbing space marines with my banshee (since that's all i get to play against).

But this game shouldn't have been released this year.

I asked them years ago if they thought that an actual open world FPS with literal army vs army battles would be feasible and they said it would, and then pointed me to a man vs machine demo that proved it was possible.  Such demo was more just for proof of concept than anything and was a giant mess of everything that could possibly be a miss, but it did technically prove the concept was possible.  Needless to say though, I was still highly skeptical.

At any rate, due to that skepticism, I was not surprised when they announced it was mostly going to just be another lobby shooter.

What DOES dissappoint me, however, is it can't even be considered a finished game, even by its few defenders, when it comes to THAT.  So it's like, $50 for this unfinished lobby shooter, or $40 ($60 with extras) for Overwatch.  Or Paladins F2P.  Hmm....

At least you can play as Orks and Eldar I guess.  Don't think that's ever been possible in a WH40k FPS game.
