Now that sounds interesting. I never liked some games that allowed you to upgrade certain pieces of gear while losing your bonuses on them in the process.

This is like the new gear system in Star Trek Online; if you get a piece of gear you like (with stats you like), for space or ground combat, if you invest in the Development system you can keep that piece upgraded, and make it equal to the best gear in the game (except for set bonuses). It takes a fair investment in time and resources, but the results are worth it IMO. I would hope the crafting system in this game is as good.

The world is going to the dogs, which is just how I planned it!

There are two ways to craft gear. 1st way is doing a 120 long quest chain that gives you one random design. Also the design has a random lvl when crafted say you are lvl 39 it could be between 30 and 39. The quest is repeatable once a week so takes sometime to get the design you need plus the lvl you want. Second way which I would say is just as annoying and costs more is by doing dungeons not so hard for the lower lvls but when you get to around lvl 39 the cost and drops needed are much harder to get as you have to do the dungeons on god mode for the drops. Other than that could be worse.

Well i dont mind it being hard. RNG is not a plus by any means, but im ok with that too.

The real question is, how many can someone pay with real money to bypass the grind and the RNG?

If someone can just pay to get things easily, that will be the problem. Being hard is not a problem, it is a good thing. RNG is not cool, but whatever, just hoping people can't just pay to get everthing.
