With just months away from KotET
(Knights of the Eternal Throne) releasing, the subsequent upcoming changes have been revealed for SWTOR. Largely, it revolves around class changes and their respective fantasy. The idea is to, like WoW
*surprise*, to be focusing on giving classes a lot more identity and making it easier for them to understand without having to spend time figuring out what abilities were made redundant after choosing their advanced class at lvl 10. How you might ask? By making it a choice from the get-go in the character creation. This and more including new abilities, ability pruning and thanks to the class choice changes, the difference between two advanced class belonging to one main class will be a lot more visible.
One of the bigger changes is how melee classes will no longer have any casting and/or channeled abilities instead those abilities have been made instant, removed or made exclusive to their other advanced class and vice versa ranged classes have had their abilities altered to be 99.99% ranged and no melee.
But this is datamined from the PTS and should be treated as such. It is subject to change.
