Smedley Streaming Hero's Song

stevebombsquadstevebombsquad Member UncommonPosts: 884
There was an update to the Hero's Song Indiegogo campaign today. Smedley will be streaming on his twitch account from 9:00 to 11:00 PST.  I am extremely excited about this game. It is still scheduled for a late October Alpha 3 release for backers, and an early November release for Early Access on Steam.

Your loss... Why even bother saying something if you have no intention of trying it out or have no desire to discuss it?

Why would it matter that he is streaming on the most used streaming service for games? If he was using youtube it would garner less views, and less random people would stumble upon it.

lol just wait till you see him stream on Twitch.

Go watch his Vods, his stream is always very low quality, he has a hard time interacting with the people in chat, and for a guy who was president of a major gaming company has a paltry 2k followers (Not subs) so yeah I would say it is def a reason I wont be checking it out.

True, but most Steam users don't know who Smed even is; so once it hits Steam it will have to stand on it's own for sure. I do find it funny the site for the game has a DDOS attack check, I guess he is just being proactive since he has some haters lol. I'll watch this game from a distance, my opinion of smed is neutral at this point. I don't mind pixel games and if it is what he claims it to be I might check it out. I can't say it will "suck" based on who made it at this point, I will watch reviews ect and there is a thing called Steam Refund if it is a lemon.

Are you onto something or just on something?

not a snow balls chance in hell I would ever come close to touching this game and that is without even factoring in the Smedley part.

now Dual Universe on the other hand yes

Hoping it is either a MMOFPS or MMOMOBA(?). Maybe just wishful thinking though.

It apparently made both of your "totroll" lists though.
It's the only way I see myself getting any enjoyment from this one.

I don't understand why these guys don't have their own funds to create a business and a game on their own dime.

What the fuck have they been doing all these years? Unless of course they want others to shoulder the risk for no gain.

Once they are done wringing out the towels after draining the free money pool, they'll start using other's and then their own.

At $80,000+ with only 8 days remaining on their $200,000 crowdfunding campaign goal, I can't see this getting funded.  I know it is a flexible goal (meaning they receive the pledges regardless of the goal met) yet still.
You would figure with some of the names involved in this project they could just fund it themselves.
They have stated that they are just using Indiegogo as a means for preordering.

Do you know what John Smedley's favorite Whiskey is?

    Dalmore 50

Why is this relevant? Its a fucking $15,000 bottle of Whiskey.

Seriously im totally ok with you supporting this game, but dont think I wont call out Smed for how hypocritical it is that he needs an freakin indiegogo campaign for anything. Let alone for 200K which is nothing to him.

I can't speak for him but i can certainly speak for myself...

Because he is a crooked shyster,a criminal,a scam artist.
He started that big hoopla with his kids game that suddenly went under after only a few years, then the TCG game looked promising but disappeared very quickly, then laughable projects like H1Z1 a half finsihed 1 map game,a VERY weak series in the Planetside games and then the wannabe EQ Next that was always a scam to get people's money to build it.
So now he is trying to panhandle some third rate 1980's game off on the 2016 public and expect us to sid idle and allow it,no way in hell,i despise scam artists.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Hell will freeze over before I show even the faintest flicker of interest in a game Smedley is involved with. "Run like the wind, Bullseye!"

Smedley is something of a controversial figure, that theres a lot of negative association with him is inevitable, as ye sow so shall ye reap.
And for many, thats all that matters in the end.
