Almost makes me want to dust-off my old Loremaster.

This game is in dire need of some graphics improvements, world of warcraft looks a lot better and its 3 years older...
this game is on its way out - there's no point. they could have stuff like dealing with harad and scouring the shire after sauron dies. But the license ends in 2017 and they haven't announced anything
Agree about the "no point" though the graphics in-game, imo, look better than they did in the Youtube video.

Could you link the official confirmation that the license has ended next year.
The licence has not ended it has been renewed to the end of 2017 - big difference.
I redownloaded the game 2 weeks ago in an attempt to see the new content (Helm's Deep, Gondor). I only played for a couple days. It's just very aged and the idea of leveling a character up 100 levels is daunting. They streamlined the story quests to make them all soloable, but you still need to grind other quests.
It would be nice if they just boosted the XP from the story quests so you only need to complete them to progress through the older parts. Then I think I could handle it.
Whilst I "disagree" that they need to boost the xp people can - if they wish - buy xp enhancements. I have had "friends" who have leveled characters very, very quickly.
The idea of leveling to 100 (and 5 now) is daunting. And its not just the leveling either but the talents. In that sense LotR is a very "old style" game. It doesn't need progression servers since it hasn't changed for years (it did change post release but that was years ago now).
Almost makes me want to dust-off my old Loremaster.
I feel like that's somehow the punchline to a joke ...
I could have said staff

Yep, I raised an eyebrow at that line too... and not only because I like the leveling and actually was on the opposite camp for years, requesting the xp-disabler option
Game already has tons of xp in it, why should they botch it even further with general boosting? (like TOR's lame 12x boost, sure it was welcomed by some, but also a turn-off for others) Especially when it's pointless, since xp is totally in the players' control, you can get always-on xp boosts (subscription, or Hammerhand shield), you can get timed boosts (double or even triple xp gain for an hour), you can buy flat out xp chunks for Eru's sake... and if that's still slow, you can buy a jump to level 50, or if even that is slow, you can jump right near the end at level 95.
Both with these, and the xp-disabler on the other side of the spectrum, you can level as fast (or as slow) as you want. No need for any further boosting...

And as a result it has a "charm".
