Should Star Citizen have Killmails like in EVE Online ?
That show who died, what died, when, where, who killed with what, what was looted, how much damage was done. A whole killboard subculture of PvP specialists might grow around that, not to mention the bragging right possibilities.

Way things look right now, its going to be 2-3 years before they have a finished and playable product.
They just need to focus on meeting their obligations in a timely manner.

Doesn't feel that focused on PvP.
But what I would really, really, really like is an actual game, finished. It does not even have to be good. I just want it finished resembling something akin to Roberts his wildest dreams, fueled by consumer money, say 10% of those things promised included in said finished game. That is what I would like.
After that I would like a really big hole in a desert, preferably next to the E.T. game hole, and dump Roberts, his project, all ridiculous diverting side projects and all nonsensical fluff included and proposed in that hole, pixel ship sales and all and bury it under tons of sand never to be seen again. The sooner this money sucking hype dies down the better, it will never live up to what was promised, there is no reason to believe otherwise, Roberts sure as hell isn't a guarantee.
We can all dream now can't we? :pleased:

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'

Also, lol at the Derek Smart comment below yours. Smart is an ass for sure, just like Roberts is. Dropping his name really doesn't mean anything, positive or negative. It is of course an easy way of discrediting someone elses comment.

In fact, I can say that my interest in this game will drop significantly if there's no way to report on kills other than "I killed him" and the other guy going "nuh uhhh, prove it, you never killed me."
Maybe it's just me, but when I'm playing EVE, I keep zKillboard up 100% of the time and watch who is losing what and how. But then again, all I really play most games for is the PVP.

The cake is a lie.
For a system like that to exist, it must be implemented within AI as well; because AI is also a bounty generator, not only players killing players.
People will believe what they want to believe, facts don't matter.
The roadmaps shared at Citcon clearly show those features you even mentioned as part of the alpha release roadmap. And stating that they are not planning to release the game without this features and professions would then not be an opinion, yet the fact.
Personally, I'd like if there was a point when you could call the company out that's not the official release day. Previously it used to be the release date because that's when they'd take the money, but it's no longer the case these days. Do you think there's a time interval like that? Eight years since they first started taking money, maybe ten years?
They have a finished game to release first, being that SQ42. And the rest falls upon SC; as they still have a lot to do what I see backers is that people are more worried about "when is the next update" rather than "when is the 1.0 version". I'll wonder about that once the Alpha is decently fleshed out.

My approach to SC is exactly the same - if they actually release a product, not a promise, I am willing to pay them for it.
On the 3.0 demo I think we saw the outlaw players on the base as enemy players more as a filler to the fact the AI isn't there yet. But well only when they get to start populating the game world with AI we will see.

It's not bragging, it's simply a record of events. I've had some pretty damn embarrassing losses, like the time I lost both my main and my alt fighting a fucking claymore that I caught in a safe spot in low sec. Or the time I lost a very expensively fit, pre-nerf Hurricane to a myrmidon because I forgot to boost out of scram range. Or the aggravating time I lost an FI Stabber to a Thanatos because another FI stabber had a damn cyno fitted and I got him into hull.
Killboards go both ways. Zkillboard proudly displays your losses alongside your wins.
I also only do PVP in EVE because I'm space rich and PVE activities just bore me to death now. I did PVE stuff for money for many years, and then I hit a jackpot and now I can spend my space time PVP'ing.
