GeForce Driver Download

Dark Souls 3 seems to be crashing very often for me since the release of Ashes of Ariandel (even though I'm not in DLC area). I figured I would update my driver for GeForce GTX 780 Ti.

The site says the drivers are optimized for games. The one for Dark Souls 3 is back in March 2016. Should that be the one I take or if I take the most recent one should it also be fine regardless of the game (although maybe not THE BEST for DSIII)? The most recent is from October 2016.

Generally take the latest one, there's very few cases where the latest driver is worse than the previous one, and if you're talking that far back, that would have been fixed a long time ago anyways.

Most likely the reason they list a year old driver as the 'best' is because that is the last one the DS3 dev team actually tested.  If you are having problems with crashing, roll back to the previous version.  If that is still crashing even though that driver worked before, then you have another problem to deal with.  You could try a deep antivirus scan, & if that does not find anything, then consider an Operating System refresh.  With Win 10 you go into Start/ Settings/ Update and Security/ Recovery/ Reset This PC.  There you can restore your operating system without losing your documents or apps if you choose to do that.  You don't even need a disc.

Be warned; if you go this route, resetting your PC, some programs may need to be reinstalled.  Not saying that for sure, but it may happen.

That means it's the first driver version to have optimization for Dark Souls 3, not that it would be the only one. Every driver version released after that should have the same optimization.

Get the newest driver. If there's any problem with any game, the first thing you should do is to make sure all your drivers are up to date.

If newest drivers don't fix the problem, look at Dark Souls III forums for others having similar problems.
