Improving visuals is the last thing this game needs.
talk about working on stuff that doesnt need fixing
I agree for once. BDO has the best graphics of any MMO so far, they should fix PvE and make it more meaningful.
100% agreed. Not even more meaningful, just more of it. I know PVP endgame is their target, and their USP, but I know I'm not alone in wishing and hoping for more group PVE content.
I think the devs have a passion for graphics (and PvP), so that's where they put all their focus.
Mind you, I agree with you. Some fun PvE would be a refreshing addition.

Can anyone even play on max quality the game offers now?
Yes, the highest setting in the game is playable with surprisingly low requirements, such as what was a near state of the art computer that is now 3-4 years old. My system when I tried the beta was such a system.
Well that is a lie. You need a i5 6600k, or a i7 6700k, to even get 20-30 fps in a town. If you want a constant 60+ you need to get a 1080 gtx with that high end cpu. So a 780 ti, and a 3rd gen i5 or i7 is not gonna get you playable fps if you ask me. I had a i7 2600, and a 1060, and in town my fps dropped to like 9, intill i upgraded to i5 6600k then it hit 25-35 in town. My 1060 is equal to a 980. So Yeah i guess if you have a 980 980 ti and a 4th gen cpu you could max this game.
But The other guy is right not to many people can actually max this game as it is, maxing = 60 fps. So to get that you need to be rocking a 1500 dollar computer, and not to many people have that.

So you suggest artists should start designing and coding...?
This is not an in-house art team who otherwise would be idle and their talents going to waste. This is an outside contractor that Kakao is spending money to hire to do this. Money that could have went towards other things.
There going hit a wall at some point they only can do so much on DX11 with out cutting down some stuff.
They can have the best engine in the world, but at the end they engine can only do so much do to the API with out dropping fps so much by add more stuff on people screen.
At max settings, the graphics already decimate anything MMO related and can only be compared to the best AAA single player titles.
The only real issue is the texture pop in at close and medium distances. They absolutely have to improve this, without sacrificing any of the distant LOD detail, where the game really excels.
The sandbox part is excellent,so they got this covered.
The PvP is ok,although a more appropriate description for it would be Gear v Gear, but that is a design choice not a matter of spending more money on it.
Where the game falls apart and needs immediate attention(and money),is in the PvE department. The game is as much a PvE game as any,and it's PvE is the clusterf@k to end all clusterf@ks. Without getting into many details, the model they chose is that of a themepark MMO in it's most archaic form, and that doesn't work at all in a sandbox seamless world environment, and on top of that it is terribly executed.
They should spend the money on reforming the horrible PvE,it is dragging the rest of the game down, the visuals already kick ass.
More players are likely to quit because of the PvE, and no one will quit because of the graphics.

Uh no.
Uh, yes.
You're not running this game on max settings using a 4 year old computer with any reasonable FPS. Using a 3570k @ 4.2ghz and a R9 290 nets me 10-20 FPS in Heidel on max settings, that isn't playable to me.
FPS would constantly be below 10 using my rig during PvP and Raids using max settings, completely unplayable.
I'm not. Mine is only two years old. I was responding to your original question of "Can anyone even play on max quality the game offers now?" to which the answer is most definitely yes. Quite a few do. I imagine a ridiculously pimped out PC from 3-4 years ago could probably run it decently too.

Don't call me a liar. I played the game in beta, I used the highest preset for graphics EXPECTING it to have low framerates, but the game surprised the hell out of me by being quite smooth, even in town.
And I was using an ATI 7870 GHz model video card, not a Nvidia 780.
The world is going to the dogs, which is just how I planned it!

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.
More so, they are saving a time of coders by doing this.....
