Early access is an idea that spells crap for any game.
Why is it early? Why not wait until it is fit for sale?Does it mean these devs don't have the money or resources to finish a product first and make sure it is running smoothly?if so then why would i believe they have any resources to give me a quality game?
Here is a comparison,my fave game of all time in the mmorpg genre waited 5 years just to break even. That spells confidence in your ability to deliver and to be able to wait that long to break even. Now a days developers want instant profit, put almost nothing into these games then start asking for money.
There is absolutely NO justification for asking us the gamer to PAY to test your game for you.In the past devs paid employees to help test the games, they were tested internally before being released for money. So again it says two things, you run a shotty operation and are trying to rip people off, exploit gamer's for profit.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Files have been submitted to Steam and still not a single gameplay video. So I'm led to believe that the game is: A. - a slideshow and therefore no video is available. B. - So awesome that they want to save the sheer awesomeness for release. C. - So bad that they want to save the sheer badness for release.
It will be easy to see if it's worth the purchase a week or two after it releases on Steam. I love virtual worlds and I won't bitch until I've actually got something to bitch about.

That's not good enough. You need to work harder on that! :P

What is the source on this comment referenced on 2p.com? I could post something on twitter or reddit and it would make it no less credible, unless the thing I linked was either an official account (was it, did MMORPG.com or 2P.com confirm that? No) or it was linking to an official comment (again, nothing). This should have been filed in the bucket, not published on this site.

Or at least you had to fill out an application to test games. They wanted to know your gaming history, the stats of your rig, the amount of time you played online. That way they could invite a cross section of gamers to test and critique their game. Now you get gamers who want a challenge pouring in first telling them the games to easy and make it more old school and the game launches and all the casuals come in and say it's to hardcore make it easier.
One thing I do like is being able to play a new game on a timer to see if you like it or not. It's convinced me to buy some games I never would have.

Horsejoke made this comment on Discord about the EA rumor about an hour ago: "Just a rumor for now, when China is awake I'm going to try to investigate a little deeper'
"As for the most controversial PvP & PvP servers, Horsejoke told us that if ganking becomes too much of an issue on PvP servers even for hardcore PvP players, however, they may need to look into additional restrictions / penalties."
This is a clear indication that times have changed since the old days of PvP in MMOs. No longer is there honorable player vs player interactions with the occasional trolling, it's all about the trolling.
I blame the millennials who grew up on tea-bagging for entertainment in Halo. xD
Not only are they not putting any gameplay videos out there, but am I the only one who raises an eyebrow at the fact that there is still no working website other than the "coming soon" banner, when the game is allegedly so close to being on EA?

It looks like this whole "files being submitted already for EA" thing is just a rumor based on what I found. Looks like we got a bit longer to wait as it has not yet been submitted.

There is something to be said about this though my first mmo was Lineage 2 and there was plenty of nonsense there as well.
I recall a fight in the Cemetery between my alliance and an enemy alliance. It was a great fight.
Afterward a few of us were talking to the enemy combatants that was downed and we decided to resurrect him and let him go on his way as he was a decent guy.
Well, one of our alliance passes us by and says "what is this care bear shit, don't rez him".
When a game ceases to be a game and players can play "together" even if they are on opposing teams then that's an issue in my opinion.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."
This game aside I have been EXTREMELY (I want to stress that word as in considerably more so, factors of large, more than expected) happy with the early access games I have purchased as in it pretty much saved my gaming life. if it wasnt for Early Access the only games I would be playing is City Skylines, Elite Dangerous and Wurm
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
... Screenshots don't sell games any more than Table of Contents pages sell books.
I'm willing to bet that they'll still sell a few hundred thousand Early Access packages without a shred of game play footage shown.
Gamer's will be gamer's...
And even if that's the case I'm willing to bet there will no shortage of fools who will buy these packs blind, see what an unfinished state the game is in, and then throw screaming entitled wobblers and claim they were "lied to". This never ending cycle of self destruction is getting old as all this salty popcorn is very bad for my waistline.
most of the people who buy or claim to buy an early access title and then complain about it being unfinished are just being trolls.
