I really want to see a decent and i mean decent BR game. For me i like The Culling but it just doesnt seem to be gaining momentum quick enough as a finished product. H1Z1 doesnt work as i like more blood.
There are a few titles on the horizon but the question is why do you think a big dev hasnt tried to secure the genre i.e blizzard etc etc.
Ive tried to get some threads started on this but nobody seems that interested in this game type.
Anyone else have an opinion on the above?
Maybe it really is just that and nobody is interested.

If you're a big publisher working on a big budget, I think you're going to want to implement multiple gaming modes to create more variety and appeal to a wider audience.
This post is all my opinion, but I welcome debate on anything i have put, however, personal slander / name calling belongs in game where of course you're welcome to call me names im often found lounging about in EvE online.

I think there is too much violence in video games and NOT because of moral reasons but because of redundant reasons

Personally, I think it's because they see it for what they think it is, which sadly, is what they currently see with their eyes, completely turning off their imagination from running with the idea. Which leaves not much to be had. Add in the, I'm assuming, average creativity and imagination of whoever makes the pitches or decisions in said big company and I am sure they don't see too far outside the currently-operating boundaries of that game model.
However, if a company were to consider the possibilities, I think there are quite a few options to increase the scope of current Battle Royale formats. For instance, going with that rickety-wooden bridge troll's suggestion of there being too much violence, you could take a Battle Royale idea to a hilariously designed game without a focus on violence but more along the levels of tongue-in-cheek or, to be more specific, pie-in-the-face approach and combine it with any other non-violent game genre theme, specifically the theme.
Battle Royale style cooking games, car repair games, clown-car racing games, vain-centric games, joke-based games, you name it and it could be a fun take on Battle Royale style games.
Basically go down the list of the most popular 'any category' games on mobile, and plug it into the Battle Royale model.
Now, what would make it a real game is having an 'outside the Royale' section of the game bigger than the average Battle Royale limited menu and options system currently being used.
