Ran across this article of a person explaining why they like Black Desert. This person really sees the game for what it. Worth a read for anybody that plays or is thinking about playing.

Black Desert Online: A Preamble
I've been following Black Desert Online since I first heard about it in 2011. I avidly watched all the videos and reports about it from Korea, played it on a few non-NA regions as it went global, and was terribly excited when it was finally picked up for a North American release. I love it for a multitude of reasons; character generation is amazing, the game is absolutely stunningly beautiful, there are a million quests covering all sorts of activities, grinding is effective if you just want to go somewhere and slaughter, combat is insanely fun, but most of all, I love it for its complexity.
