You can do it in Conan Exiles..Break their will, let them defend your home, let them craft, let them dance for you as entertaimemt to stable your sanity etc

Not nearly as satisfying as kidnapping a real life player and selling them. When they come back online they are somewhere completely different doing slave chores.

Back then i knew a guy who played Gothic 3 religiously.
He told me that in Gothic 3 you could become a manhunter, hunt humans and sell them to the orcs.
I loved that idea and bought the game. The feature didn't turn out as i expected and i was rather disappointed...

Maybe it works in Conan Exiles. I don't plan to buy any more Funcom games (assuming B2P), but i will keep an eye on this one for just this feature alone.

Well since I have no issue wantonly killing npcs enslaving should be no problem.

Unless of course "breaking their will" involves actual torture mechanics, then count me out.

Yes, i guess there is nothing wrong with not wanting to do some things in a videogame, even if it is just that - a game.
Many people have something like that...like there are mods that remove spiders from games because some players get frightened of them.
I always hated having to kill dogs in games, like in FarCry.

Other folks again have fun doing the weirdest stuff in Second Life.

So not wanting to enslave somebody is totally alright with me, as sometimes we naturally apply some of our "moral standards" to video games as well.

this feature sounds epic. I hope there are "adult" mods that allow for more. It does fit conan after all. Maybe over on loverslab they'll do the more niche mods that aren't allowed on other sites. But, it sounds like the game is already doing most of what kinda mods they make on loverslab already.

Like skyrim has a bunch of slavery mods (and more) on that site...so really hope they get modding similar stuff for Conan Exiles

I think it's time to calm down about the content of the game. People who feel slavery is wrong don't need to be taught that lesson by a game. People who think that slavery is ok have bigger problems than some harsh content in a video game. Much of the tension of the Conan setting comes from slavery. Without it you would not be able to capture the Hyborean setting as it was written in the stories.

Same here. It's why I never got into the survival game rage. It's all about torture, slavery, and mental abuse. Not what I look for in my video games.

In a couple of other survival games you can do this to real players. Such as reign of kings where you can torture your victim and keep them alive in your cage. Of course the players can counter this by keeping a stone wedged in your ass cavity to kill yourself with.

that game is messed up lol.

Its actually quite fun; sure it might be annoying to the captive, but most people have had fun with it. I just think it adds a layer to the game. People that think its wrong in video game have their own self-righteous views that they find fine, like Quzzical was saying.

Kind of like American culture of showing humans naked it taboo, but killing and violence is fine. Its a video game and despite what the media tried to perpetuate; it has not been proven to make people more violent, insane or whatever skewed agenda view they are trying to enact.

Did conan ever piss anyone off when that was new to the scene? I'd assume people would have been not happy with some of the content. Or is it more the newer generation that doesn't like the content in Conan?

Because this game is pretty much basing a lot of things off Conan...and it definitely is VERY anti-sjw friendly

I don't think it pissed many people off back then. Slavery was in its prime still and the depression was happening and people needed an escape; hence why fantasy/horror was very popular at that time frame. 

Newer generations definitely don't like the content, because of the Sjw indoctrination. Glad because we've been getting too many SJW propaganda games lately.

ah, yeah I didn't think so. Because I never really read anyone complaining about it that much, like they do these days. Even when age of conan was released, the content wasn't a big deal like people are making out Conan Exiles to be. There were some who freaked out over the nudity (but not the blood and heads being chopped off?), but nothing major and I don't remember it being THAT common really. Plus some of it I brushed off as trolls trying to start fights between people. 

There were a few I remember who did that here on MMORPG.com back when Age of Conan was "the next big thing" before it released. They'd always say something bad about the game because of the nudity (ignoring the chopped heads and blood hypocritically enough), and there'd be entire arguments over it lol. 

Conan Exiles releases info though, and a ton of people freaking out lol. Its like they want a conan game filled with unicorns, daisies and safety spaces. When conan is a bloody, barbaric world.
