I agree there are issues with the game but holy cow are they giving stuff away this month and a bit into January.
1. There is a daily login reward with some great items like 5 or 10 black stones
2. There is a daily reward of material to make special rings
3. The Black Spirit game is back on giving you three free items per day
Plus the daily xp bonus and the daily contribution xp. I dont play games much due to family/career but I try and log in an hour or two a couple times a week and a solid few hours on Saturdays. I have only been playing about a month and I have already accumulated 50 million in silver and 150 million in assets sitting in my storage. I have already purchased 2 months worth of value packs so I am currently set until February.
The game has some issues and I dont know any game that doesnt, BUT... it sure it nice to see a company giving so much stuff to its players and not requiring a monthly sub to get them.

In 2 days I made 20M, randomly saw a premium set of 24$ on the marketplace for 20M and my bidding got through, so win/win.
Pay to win/win.
I played for 2 days, and got by myself one premium set that would otherwise cost 24$ on the cash store. That's not Pay-to-Win, that's Play-to-Win
I got myself 5 costumes so far (saved $150)
But the point is the guy selling the item is getting silver through selling cash items. Sure it's not much right now, but that can be adjusted at any time Kakao wants a cash infusion by upping the marketplace limits.
I get that it's nice to get outfits "for free", but they opened a real can of worms when they allowed cash shop items on the marketplace. Also, keep in mind every other MMO gives you decent character customization options and you don't have to get 4 pets to auto-loot. So what you're getting "for free" is just standard stuff in other mmos.
The p2w and cash shop monetization model is very complex and intricate and impressive if viewed in a certain light, but I'd much rather they spent all the manhours and creativity they must have spent on it for content for the game.
Sadly, I have already used up my all of my 'killer instinct' proving that arena PVP is for people who can't take a real punch.
BDO is a good game if you are new to MMOGs and veterans may like it for the deepest-near-end parts.
It has a cash shop that players NEED to some degree. Otherwise, you can find your way without it.
If there is ever a game with TOO MUCH TO DO, this is it. Bring your hopes for good drops and 'buddy-ip' as quick as you can to help you through the boredom of trying to be a solo-king.
For example Pets are one of the biggest must-haves just by logging in every day we get one, and so forth, that balances out what when you compare to other games is kinda like "pay or no deal". A friend of mine was playing and decided to just put in money to buy a pet, I instead just did the daily login reward for 14 days and got one. The moment the game goes as "you must pay up // play for like 999999 hours to get this pet" that'd be another story for me.
Except endgame content or any group content whatsoever. It does have a lot of good things going for it and it is ridiculously expansive in some areas, but I certainly wouldn't describe it as "having it all".

And one pet is not enough for endgame grinding- you really want 4.
I can see where you're coming from, and it does seem fair or generous from a certain perspective. But when you consider they didn't include auto-loot in a game that encourages you to farm hundreds of mobs/hour and limited it to pets, where you need 4 pets to just simulate an auto-loot function from a regular MMO, and then they give you one if you play for 14 days, it's less fair.
They are giving you 1/4th of an auto-loot function "for free" if you play for 14 days.
Any reasonable MMO requiring you to grind as many mobs as this one does would just implement auto-loot.
They make it feel like they're being generous by putting the pets in the shop for $10 and giving you one for free. Same with outfits. But really any other reasonable MMO would just have outfits available in-game and auto-loot.
It's pervasive throughout the game- you need to sub to dye your outfit the way you want. Just think about that for a second.
And yes, you can get a "value pack" if you camp the marketplace, but shouldn't "features" like being able to dye your clothes how you want and avoiding ridiculous marketplace fees just be part of the regular game? They are in every other MMO, including f2p ones.
I think you should take a brake from reading anything related to BDO.
Would you have a problem if they sold your character's face in the shop? You can get by without a face- after all, you barely ever see it while playing. And they need to get money somehow, right?
I mean, it's not like the game is B2P or anything.

Full loot option removed - Even if you had the option, you wouldn't use it. Why? wouldn't it be obvious? You don't want to loot everything while grinding. You only want the good stuff, so that you don't have to walk back and forth every couple of minutes.
Pets - Not all mmos even offer pets to everyone (Besides obvious classes that use them). Some mmos have pets that do nothing but be "cute". It's nothing strange they are in a cash shop since the majority offer them the same way. The question is, how many actually offer pets for free through events tough?
Outfits - Almost all mmos offer costumes in the cash shop. Should BDO have more customisation? Hell yea! Does it differ from other mmos? Not really. Many mmos do this to tempt you to purchase cool looking gear, even guild wars 2 which let's you morph looks from other gear on your main gear has exclusive looking skins on their marketplace.
Dyes - That one is quite limited for sure. This one you are absolutely right that it should be more available from ingame means.
Marketplace fee - That is something that is double edged. From one side, it's quite severe but from another side, it's already way too easy to get money even with the tax fee.
The tax fee (And fixed prices) also prevents people/bots that buy cheap to sell higher. I never liked that way to get richer. I knew of people that did that in AA, standing infront of an ah npc for hours everday buying stuff that is placed cheap to resell it higher. It's quite boring for me personally and highly immoral to gain from the people that don't know the value of their wares. Game or no game.

If you decide to get it, my suggestion is to store as much food/ammo in your container as you can, as you find a crap ton in the beginning but barely any later on.
Perhaps, I am just not getting it. But the combat... I have to memorize all these moves? That's seems excessive. And so far I just haven't been fighting much. My character jumps all over the screen. I will jump 100 ft away from what I'm fighting lol. I look like a damn fool out there.
Inventory.... yikes. Its tiny. This is a huge issue.
I'm still trying to figure out how to access the marketplace. Perhaps, I wasn't in the right place. Went to a trade manager per wiki, and I saw no options to get into the marketplace.
Is there a way to turn off that annoying Marketplace Banner popup?
I'm really trying to give it a good shot. I figure its a new style of game, and I just need to adjust. But its been difficult.
What class did you pick?
The inventory gets bigger with some main story quests.
Marketplace was also quite a pain to find for me too. The trade manager is not the marketplace, it's an npc store that shows you all the wares that are sold from trade packs and/or specific rare monster drops.
