No one's gonna expect she's a nerd anyway...

Are you paid to play games as a hobby or way to pass time?

Awesome cool to think about those two walking off set to go play an MMO

Yes. It's called native advertising. It's much more common than you think.

But unless it can be proven, which it currently cannot, how can you determine what is "real" and what is an advertisement.

In the end it doesn't really matter - I mean, whether they play or get paid to say they play the result is the same.

Well, supposedly Mr. T and William Shattner also play WoW. Pretty cool really.

I wonder what famous people play other MMO's?

In this case it is hard to prove unless you know Ronda Rousey or were with Activision-Blizzards PR department.

Other cases are much easier. For instance I was visiting my mom and she was watching the news. They did a whole bit on being prepared for an emergency break down situation with your car. At the end of the bit they mentioned that you could get a kit from "xyz" for "x" amount of money.

Sometimes when a person relates their story like when she said I don't think Draenei can be druids it sounds like she knows the game. She would phrase her sentences better if she was actually advertising.

She is so awesome and so is Vin .

Cool story but the real funny thing is that as nerdy as Rhonda sounds here,Conan actually sounds like a complete dumbass nerd.
Even when i despised gaming,i thought it was for little kids,i still understood gaming, knew it was there,Conan must live under a rock if he doesn't know anything about Wow.

Hi my name is Conan,i only know what i rehearsed prior to airing, anything else ..."i haven't got a clue"....Oh wait is Trump president,i thought it was still that peanut guy.

Well she has been playing for awhile and it is extremely believable that Vin Diesel is playing considering his love for DnD. She has talked about WoW before and was pretty accurate about her experiences and they line up with others.
I'd find it odd he'd choose WOW if he's a DnD lover. That said, I don't know why folks act surprised Celebs play games, especially folks Vin's age or younger. It's probably one of the only times in a day they get to act normal around other people, since few know who they are. Plus they're rich, have plenty of down time, as well as spend many boring nights in hotel rooms. ...

I'm not suprised that celebrities play WoW its mainstream of course and theres this actor I forget his name showing off his 980 ti or the top end gpu of like a year ago or so on twitter. More and more people are getting into gaming, some mma fighters are into it and they all have their gaming pc etc.

Vin Diesel talked about him playing WoW with Paul Walker on their off time.
The acronym MMORPG use to mean Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game.

But the acronym MMMORPG now currently means Microscopic Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game. Kappa.

Was more the point that people wouldn't expect Vin to be a diehard DnD fanatic so why is WoW that surprising.
I find it to be one of the least RP friendly experiences in the genre, as well as one of the most un-dnd like.  I'd think for a DnD dieheard it would feel rather trite. But that's just me.

People play games.  Some of those people are well known around the world.  Gaming is not and has never been exclusive to nerds and geeks.  Get over it.

    The real question is:

How many famous people or celebs do post on mmorpg.com??

You're reading to deep into it. I'm just saying something that is considered infinitely more geeky than WoW is his thing so a video game shouldn't be a surprise regardless of what kind it is.

Though I disagree with the RP thing.
The WOW thing was just a thought, that said.. I agree, like I said originally; it isn't surprising... it makes perfect sense to me those folks play video games.

She's talked about being a WoW player for a long time. When she has an endorsement deal, you can tell. For example, she had a deal to market a mobile fighting game called Taichi Panda. It was funny because on her reddit AMA she kept talking about Taichi Panda but people only wanted to ask her about WoW, which she didn't want to talk about too much (probably since she doesn't want to give away her anonymity in-game).

You do realize that just because she is famous doesn't mean she isn't a person right?  This isn't the first celebrity that has admitted to play WoW.
