With the recent worry that Bless Online was not going to be making its way to NA and EU markets, we reached out to Aeria Games for a quick chat with Jérôme Nguyen Van Long, the Director of Game Launches at the Berlin-based company. Rest assured, Bless is indeed still coming to the NA and EU territories and progress is steadily being made. Read on for our exclusive interview with Aeria Games about the status of Bless Online.

I think the game will find a decent audience here in the West. I had to make myself stop playing so I can experience it anew with my Western friends. Very much looking forward to the Western release. Big fan of the game. Best dungeons in an MMO in years.

Its Aeria, Blue. Its Aeria....Honestly, a game like this would make Aeria get noticed (which is funny since they've been publishing for so long but people only know them for lackluster titles). This honestly isn't an Aeria quality title (meaning its above what they typically publish), so idk. Not to mention they tend to make all their titles pretty cumbersome so it further influences the need for "convenience" items.

Could you explain what makes the dungeons good? I've been looking for a decent one for a while now.

Tend to have traps and such starting at early levels so you can't just steam roll.

I like a challenge so that is good, till the place is not a field full of land mines every time else it would become tedious.

Hope there is parkouring through obstacles too.

I won't say anything about bosses as that might be different later on, but those first two seemed really simple and quite boring with tank and spank while avoiding the aoe marker.

One thing I really really disliked from that video, the loot system. Good god, we will be back to ninja looters and lucky people getting all the good stuff. I hate that.

This is the mmo I'm most excited about playing. I always enjoy eastern mmos and this looks like Tera in regards to gameplay mechanics (trinity, classes etc) so i'm happy for sure. My only complaint is that it's not out yet lol. I really hope we hear more information on a release date or at the very least timeframe. I'll be disappointed if it doesn't launch here in NA in 2017.

AFAIK the PvP in Bless cannot be avoided at all.  You can even be killed in town.  There are videos online of people being ganked while they are trying to talk to quest givers. That alone will keep me away from it, pretty as it looks. My two-cent opinion is that this will go the same way as Age of Wushu did: hyped to death for its so-called "open-world PvP", but then once people start to experience abuse at the hands of the trolls who haunt these games, they will leave in droves and the game will disappear.

As far as people here wondering why Aeria games - my sources tell me that Bless was pitched to almost all western publishers and got turned down.

    So thats why Aeria.
Perfect World wanted it but Aeria games won out because PW was looking for a way to bring it to the PS4.
Game is not meant nor made for consoles.
Perfect world is a Chinese publisher. I was strictly talking about publishers that are from US/EU not asian publishers that also cover western regions. PWE is based on US, but its still a subsidiary of Perfect World China.
It honestly would've did better via PW vs Aeria regardless of the console situation. Hate or love Neverwinter/STO, they're known. What exactly does Aeria have that people know of? Aura Kingdom is a bit of a stretch and they're new title, Twin Saga is already pretty much DoA.

Oh I see I am sorry I think I may have already asked this question before but so many games coming out I keep forgetting and end up repeating my queries.

See my comment above. Can you imagine what kind of clusterf*** this could potentially become in the West, where e-peen is the sole focus of many players' lives and communities don't police themselves? I don't know why any publisher in their right minds would release a gankfest of this magnitude on these shores. Players being killed in towns while they are trying to quest/progress? Yeah, that's gonna go over really well here.

I would think that "almost all" publishers turning something down would mean that they are doing so for a reason. Sure, Bless may be AAA-level quality in terms of its looks and so forth, but if it's going to allow players to kill other players unchecked, it's going to have an awfully short life span. But hey, "open-world" PvP is just ripe for an F2P model with an obtrusive cash shop, so I'm sure Aeria was a good find lmao.

I think the game looks pretty great, to be honest. Similar to others? Sure. But that doesn't mean bad.

i have serious concerns about the performance of this game. i am playing the russian beta right now and low fps and lag is a real issue(i am playing from europe on a skylake 6700hq, 16gb ram and a gtx 1070 system). This game is made of unreal engine 3 and dirextx 9 so the base technology is pretty outdated. I am really curious how performing sieges will be but if they don´t improve on that i will skip that game.

same...pretty much any F2P game is not going to be picked up by a publisher in NA/EU unless they can add P2W in the cash shop...so expect forced PvP to always be in every asian F2P MMO.

If I get sick of Archeage 3.0 I might try Bless. I also might play Revelation or perhaps, Blade and Soul.

I like the gameplay of Korean MMOs, although they come with their own set of problems, I prefer them to Western releases. Although ESO is tempting me to return as well with some friends due to One Tamriel. Even though AAA releases are slowing down, I still feel there is a lot of freshness right now.
Now Playing: Bless / Summoners War
Looking forward to: Crowfall / Lost Ark / Black Desert Mobile

To be fair, i'm sure that won't make it's way to NA/EU. If they are taking this long to port it here. I imagine they are making sure all aspects of the mmo will be westernized. There is always a chance that i'm wrong of course.

Well it would be great, but I doubt they will remove open world pvp heh.

Hopefully (but, not likely) the lengthy Westernization includes either severe limitations on PvP or even PvE servers. The way the PvP is in Bless now will kill the game faster than any amount of Cash shop fuckery.

When a casual player gets ganked talking to a quest giver or selling stuff at a vendor they will proceed directly to uninstall.

But, then, with Aeria publishing they will just release it as is, hope for big sales from people flocking to the new shiny and not care how well it does afterward.
