I replaced my GPU

My R9 290X fried when I realized I can overclock it by switching to my 2nd bios. With the first bios it always reset with only a 1% overclock. So I tested and saw it could hold a 5% overclock stable all day. So I decided to push it if I can get the kind of gains other people got with the card. The problem was I used the benchmark from 1 overclock utility while overclocked through AMDs software. When I did quick benchmarks it ran stable because it was running a stock OC setting. Ran a game and boom dead.
Originally I planned to limp along with my backup GPU until Vega becomes widely available. But then I remember I will be completely replacing systems at that time and pawning my machine off to my brother. So might as well get a new GPU.
I decided to buy the XFX R9 Fury X because of... Price. What a steal at $319.99. It performs about the same as the 1070 but runs cooler and quieter. The only problem is XFX is more a bargain brand.

I wasn't as well until I saw the price. For near 1070 performance, and more if you know what settings to play with when you have limited video ram it's difficult to beat. It is very quiet under load unlike my 290x that could get very loud.
For my game settings, I jumped up to 2160p 60Hz in most titles since the GPU could probably handle it. I decreased several screen space effects as these would eat up the 4GB memory at 2160p. This would mostly be anti-aliasing. I didn't turn off motion blur and depth of field despite them being other screen space effects. Setting it up was a bit difficult as my other case was not configured well for it's pump which likes the rad to be mounted a certain way. I also could not use the rad as an intake despite it probably having better cooling properties. The space it takes up is phenomenal. Although its a high wattage card, my old 290x required 1 more 6-pin.
