Steering having limited vision and relying on spotters/navigators, people having to do less glamorous(potentially boring) tasks like repairing the hull below-deck, etc.
Sounds like a recipe for disaster unless you happen to have a large group of friends.
Judging by the frequency of "asshat" behaviour in games like WoT and War Thunder, random groups will be hell...

He swam with a chest full of gold like he was a fit racing swimmer.. They should make you load it into a small boat and row it to the ship. Add more stalling situations where one can get it stolen off you making it more dicey getting it back to ship let alone selling it at a quartermaster.
I've heard it loosely compared to Destiny a couple of times, but I don't know how accurate that is.
