So Nintendo's free game a month with the Switch Premium online service only lets you play that game for a month. Then you have to buy it. Unlike Sony or MicroSoft where it's free as long as you keep your sub.

GG Nintendo. Hopefully this changes quickly.
YEEESH. That's bad.
Try to be excellent to everyone you meet. You never know what someone else has seen or endured.
Nintendo also teased extra perks for signing up. Per Nintendo’s website: “Subscribers will get to download and play a Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) or Super Nintendo Entertainment System (Super NES) game (with newly-added online play) for free for a month.”

Even when my PS Plus expired because it didn't auto-renew I kept all my old PS Plus games once I paid the fee again. They didn't try and screw me out of them at least.
One top of that since the Switch uses cartridges and the WiiU uses discs the games aren't compatible. I'm curious if my WiiU digital purchases will play on the Switch.
I think Nintendo is screwing up a bit with this, but then they're new to the paid service game. Sony and Microsoft have been doing this for years.
So this doesn't exactly excite me to go out and purchase the Switch especially given the fact that it's 32GB nand and more expensive than the 2 premier consoles. I'll get it eventually though.
I think it is fair of us to compare this to Nintendo's stance on the Virtual Console. Nintendo sells all kinds of back catalogue games on their virtual console. However these are not cross buy. Just because I bought Zelda: Link to the Past on the 3DS doesn't mean I get to play it on my Wii U virtual console. Also games that players bought on the Wii VC weren't carried forward to the Wii U VC. I think it's fair to say that we are going to have to start from scratch when we get VC on the Switch. It's not IF we get Virtual Console on Switch. It's going to happen. It's a matter of when and expect them to make us pay. Trying to build your back catalog of VC games is when that 32 GB of internal memory (which is expandable but just not as much as most of us would want) will bite them in the ass. It has a nice USB port on it so external drives should be an option. Also batter packs so battery life doesn't really concern me too much.
I was a bit disappointed when I first saw the specs and price but then slightly changed my perspective.
I look at the Switch as a high spec Handheld, not a low spec home console. You also have the option to play it on your tv which is an awesome bonus to me.
As far as pricing goes, I bought a WIIU just for Bayonetta 2 and it was worth every penny. On top of that I also got great games like Xenoblade Chronicles X, MH3 U, MK8 and a couple more. For Switch that game is the new Zelda with sweet extras like Xeno 2, the new Mario and what looks like an amazing Fire Emblem addition. It is not the quantity that counts but the quality and if I get around 5 amazing games on 1 console it was well worth it for me.
Can't wait for March, especially with the new Nier releasing then as well.

If you think of the switch as a Wii, WiiU, and DS all in one... it really isnt that bad for the price. The core of Nintendo was always the games... not the hardware...
Looks like it can be a good handheld. It might be a bit too expensive from the nVidia tax for a handheld. It's a good way for nVidia to expand nVidia shield support. I am not too sure how well their network will operate. Nintendo has a poor track record when it comes to online services. They will probably outsell both the XBone and PS4 purely because of Pokemon.

In my country (Netherlands) its €309 or €349 with a game.
