Graphics seem dated, lots of jagged edges (yes I have it maxed out but could be wrong since half my settings are in another language), animations, horrible interface, and I have to wonder ho many pedophiles there are in these Asian countries that keep putting out these games with child looking characters in "sexy" outfits. Seriously, wtf?

I tried it, it's really bad imo. Just my 2 cents, if you like it ...good on ya.

Actually, that's precisely what I feel he should do, so long as he isn't trying to submit it as objective analysis but introduces it as personal opinion.  I think he makes it clear enough this is his opinion based upon playing the game, so I feel it's presented appropriately.

I thought it seemed like a standard fair, cash shop game.  It doesn't have bleeding edge graphics but it still looks good.  

I think most Asian cash shop games suffer from UI bloat. Everything is difficult to find and understand.  They tend to have an absurd number of currencies used for things that require currencies for no reason other than creating another object to monetize.  Everyone of things apparently requires it's own menu.  It makes for a frustrating experience.  BDO falls into this category for me.  I'm immediately overwhelmed by the UI.

Interestingly enough, western games like ESO and TSW don't have this problem.

Revelation is what I think a themepark should be. I wish it took it self more serious but I am still enjoying it. 
Just having trinity and grouping is enough to keep me playing. I really miss this in todays games. 

After level 20 the game does open up and that is where you should stop and start to explore the many different things the game has to offer. 

One of the main things I like is that it is very rewarding for players that like old school mob grinding and its best to do it in group. 

Went into a dungeon and saw groups already inside farming xp spots. I can only imagine the pvp over grind spots later on. Instantly made me think of my Lineage 2 days. 

Revelation seems to have a huge focus on pvp and I am looking forward to it. Your friends list has a section for you to list your Enemies.

The game even has Player Shops!

Revelation to me is a mix of Aion, Blade And Soul and Pefect World.

Hopefully the translation will be 100% ready by launch.

Most young(er) players dont understand the fun & charm of games like Ragnarok Online, L2 etc. 

Revelation is one of those breeds. Graphics dont matter. A lot of things dont matter as long as its fun.

Spot on the way I feel as well. The story kind of threw me at first, but the game really does open up after around 20 or so. I still play games like lineage 2, DaoC, and BnS. So this is a great fit for me I think.

Not to knock Revelation, because it has a lot of really good MMO elements, but it made me realize how good Blade and Soul actually is, and ever since I went back to it after playing Revelation been having tons of fun.  It really just comes down to what you want in your MMO.  No wrong or right here.

Well one of the things is that it pretty much tries to blend them together. Kind of how FFXIV tries to take a lot of elements from games and (personally) executes them sub-par in comparison, but still its hard to find a game with that kind of combination. The systems in RO, you really won't find in many games (the guild alliance system for example) plus it takes parts from other games to try to make it it's own thing. As for the mounts, its really just a cash shop tactic since your wings do have durability, so you will be using a mount sometimes in the future; however, there's flying mounts (probably will remain CS exclusive) so ground mounts will end up being useless, yea.

I don't care about graphics but the pedophile-ness of Asian games the OP brings up is crazy.  I can't think of one good reason to have a small child dressed up sexy.  It is very strange, and is now everywhere. 


Saying this is what anime is so it isn't pedophile bait it is just anime is plain wrong.  There are far more anime shows without sexualized children than their are.  This is a recent super-blow up in the last three or so years.  It is like the pedophiles have found a loophole in the system with games, and Asia realized it is a cash cow making games for western sickos.


Seriously, if you actually like looking at and playing super sexy dress up with clearly not-yet-sexually developed little children you are a pedophile.  Period.  I'm not even talking about not-yet-legal girls that are sexually developed and have bodies that can support reproduction and have all the bells and whistles that cause sexually developed males to do what nature drives us to.  I, personally, like grown women around my own age, but I believe in science and can understand why an adult male would want to mate with a 14 year old fully developed girl.  No normal person is sexually attracted to children who are not sexually developed.  The people that are, well, are called pedophiles.  There is no wiggle room here.  It is 1s and 0s.

I will never understand the 'pedophile' argument. I've never once looked at those characters and thought anything sexual about it. If you do, you might have your own set of problems to work out. I'm not a huge anime person either, but I love the culture. Besides, every time my friends and I play Asian style MMOs, it's always the girls who pick these characters. They love them. To them it's cute and fun. So perhaps that is their target audience.

To me the game just feels like someone ran down a marketing checklist hitting everything they could then threw it all together. Feels like another cash shop grinder with some features thrown in to feel different for a minute. Nothing feels cohesive at all. Graphics seem dated already. Controls feel awkward. Constantly hitting F Space F F Space is jarring and disruptive. Combat feels hollow. Never mind the laughable localization that supposedly hasn't been addressed as of CB3 in a game that has already been out in other regions. An MMORPGMaker VX Ace production.

I wish I could give my beta key to someone who would actually enjoy the game or at least could bother with it enough to provide some sort of whatever testing they are looking for. I just found it terrible and distasteful.

I'm simply debating the other end of the argument. There's absolutely NO reason to look at these character models sexually. I never have. Not once. As stated before, the people I know that play these characters (and enjoy them) are female friends that think they're cute. Seems acceptable to me.. Yet to sit there and say this game is terrible because it encourages pedophilea is absurd to me. You can choose to perceive it this way if you want, but why would you? Why is this offensive? The questions are rhetorical.. something you need to figure out for yourselves. Just seems that letting something like this bother you is shallow at best.

I think this is a problem that exists with people who have not grown up watching anime. They are disconnected from the normal way this is viewed in Asia and among fans of the anime type. Of course you can turn anything into something inappropriate but just broadly sweeping a brush over this type of art as being pedo is wrong. People who view this art and are affronted by it cannot divorce their mind from the image association and in reality while not trying to be insulting the problem is with the person not the art.

I can also understand getting upset when people who do not see the image association and accusing them of it get into arguments because each side is seeing a different thing. Both sides are not wrong but they just have different perspectives.

Seriously having watched this from young I just think its cute and like it. I am a 57 year old granny.

I got a free invite to CB3 and went to look for myself.

In addition to all the reasons why you dislike it I also found that it's way too whimsical, it makes a mockery out of leveling by just throwing XP at you for no particular reason other than level you up just as fast as humanly possible, the localization is horrible and very minimal - it just feels like a rush job to start grabbing cash as fast as they can.

Another boobyliscious crap game for horny teens and pervs to feast on.

Whether or not it's pedophila, those lolis are definately sexualized in their animations and clothes. I find it a telling sign for a game when the company is pandering to the lowest common denominator if they're going to put so much focus on pandering to peoples' various sexual fetishes.  If they were confident that the game was good enough to stand on its own merits, they wouldn't do such things.
